Very nice! We could have been there at the same time. I was on a four-day wandering trip back up to PA from Charleston, SC, and considered stopping by Babcock on the way up. I veered off that course though and went to Monticello instead. I've been to the mill four times so thought I would do something different.

The Mill in Summer

The Glade Creek Grist Mill in West Virginia's Babcock State Park. I had always been there in mid- to late-Autumn, with the brilliant colors in the forest. Last week, I paid my first summer visit and got this view. The creek was full and running fast, so the available angles were a bit limited compared with those at low flow periods. No matter the season, the mill is always a willing subject. Critiques welcomed!

Hillbilly Hot Dogs LaSage WV

Glad you made the visit! Despite the impression the “decor” gives, Hillbilly Hot Dogs is one of the most successful local restaurants in this area. It’s been featured on “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” and in numerous publications. A bit kitschy, but fun! Sadly, the founder passed away recently but his wife is keeping it going.
