No shoes eaten but our new English Cream Retriever tried the sheetrock, wooden baseboards, and legs on a kitchen table before she discovered a box full of dog chew toys. Everything repaired now and toys are doing the trick.

That's an excellent meter, Ken. And some nice savings over buying brand new.

I have the earlier, but very similar Sekonic L-358 and still use it extensively with digital. Like the L-308, it meters both reflective and incident, as well as flash.

One nice thing with the L-308 is that it uses a standard AA alkaline battery, doesn't it? Cheap and easy to find. I have to work a little harder to find a more expensive CR123 battery for my meter.

It is an excellent meter and you are correct...1 AA battery.

I still have a CB in my car when travelling. I use it on occasion to tell the truck in the left lane, side by side with the truck in the right lane, to please either speed up or slow down and get in the right lane. Sometimes they will.

I'm seeing this a lot on the interstates. Truck tries to past a truck and doesn't have enough stuff to pass and just creates a lot of traffic behind him. I was amazed this past weekend of all of the truck traffic between Little Rock and Memphis. In 5 minutes I counted 125 semi's that were traveling in the opposite lanes.

Several years ago the Texas DPS announced it would ticket left lane hogs(no offense) but never saw it enforced.

That's a good deal! Have you verified that the Sigma is going to work for you? Ive tried the 'little extra reach" thing a couple times. Always came back to the Nikon. But I haven't given the Sigma a try.

I've actually had the Sigma for about 1 1/2 years and it has given me what I wanted. Seems to be as sharp as the Nikon.

I've had the "printer not connected" from time to time on my Epson WF-2660. I usually just cancel out the print job and start a new one . Works most of the time. Remember, It's a man made item subject to fail.

Mike..The last time my wife and I were at the GC we photographed the sunrise on the trail to the east side of the El Tovar Hotel. (maybe 1/4 mile) Saw Elk and mountain sheep up close. You really can't go wrong on either side of the Hotel. Maybe a short hike down the Bright Angel Trail. I think a south rim trail map is available on one of the GC websites. Have fun.
