Thanks for your comments. As pointed out earlier, they are Sandhill Cranes. I knew that, but my fingers still typed Wood Stork. If I knew how to update my posting I would change that, but I don't.

On Friday I talked my wife into taking a ride to Farmington Bay so I could try out my new Nikon Z8 Camera on moving subjects. All photos were taken through my Nikon 500mm pf f/5.6 Telephoto lens using an FTZ adapter.
The main ponds are closed for visiting but there are still subjects to photograph.
This is the first time I have seen Wood Storks here and also a Black Capped Night Heron.

Congratulations on your new Z8. Mine was purchased from B & H and will be arriving on Tuesday. I bought it to replace my D850 and as a second camera to my Z9. I wish I would have had the shutter speed a few years back for Grandkids baseball. I still have one playing college ball, his summer season starts in early June. I can't wait to try them both out.
