On Friday I talked my wife into taking a ride to Farmington Bay so I could try out my new Nikon Z8 Camera on moving subjects. All photos were taken through my Nikon 500mm pf f/5.6 Telephoto lens using an FTZ adapter.
The main ponds are closed for visiting but there are still subjects to photograph.

This is the first time I have seen Wood Storks here and also a Black Capped Night Heron.

Enjoy,
Steve

The first Black Crowned Night Heron is Great! #9 and 10 are Sandhill Cranes. The white Egret with the black bill and yellow face and feet is a Snowy Egret!

Yesterday I knew they were Sandhill Cranes. I should’ve submitted this before my short term memory went nuts.
Thanks Chief for your comments.

Remember the sharpness of the shots have everything to do with the lens and very little with the camera. The quality of the shots has everything to do with the photographer and less to do with the equipment. That is a quality set Steve.

Wonderful set, Steve. The downloads are beautiful. Loved seeing how your setup performed with the FTZ. I guess I can’t use the excuse of having to buy new lenses keeping me from switching to a Nikon mirrorless.

Excellent set, Steve! You make the Z8 look good. I understand that the main ponds will not reopen until September.

Nice set but the last two do not look like Wood Storks

Thanks for your comments. As pointed out earlier, they are Sandhill Cranes. I knew that, but my fingers still typed Wood Stork. If I knew how to update my posting I would change that, but I don't.
Cheers,
Steve
