Laura
Does this include the Arca Swiss plate with 3 screws that attach to camera or lens?

That's why I would need your mailing address to figure fees.

Are these free? Just pay the shipping?

A new one costs less than you’re asking. I’m confused?

I often pick a lens from my collection and put it on my camera for weeks at a time. It is my way of learning each lens and shooting and adjusting to different situations. This has been a good learning for me. I have gotten away from what some call a walk around lens. Am I the only one?

Yes, you’re the only one!

Only kidding. After 30 years of shooting, I’ve yet to get a walk around lens. I just like playing around with one lens for a while, then switch to another for a different perspective. Just finished reading a book on wide angle photography. Now I put my 24mm on my d850 and will be using that for at least a few weeks.

Apple has decided that I can no longer use their Books app to read camera manuals and other books and magazines that I have downloaded from the web. Other than an Adobe Reader I would like to know what apps others use and their pluses and minuses.

Thanks,

Hi all

I’m the guy that just bought the rrs l bracket that the op mentioned in his opening post. The fact is I didn’t spend thousands of dollars on a camera body and thousands on good glass to mount it on a tripod with an l bracket that is made cheaper by casting rather than milling, or whose chemistry ensures that my equipment is 95% guaranteed safe. I still believe you get what you pay for. If that wasn’t true, every Lexus driver would switch to a Volkswagen and pocket the money saved.

That’s not really fair! Sometimes people get together and v**e the crooks out of office, and then replace them with brand new crooks.

I own lr/ps (non rental versions) and love them. Bought Luminar end of last year and thought it was easier and faster in many ways. Then an upgrade came out using open gl and it never again ran on my windows laptop. I asked and received a refund from skylum, as they did not plan on addressing the compatibility problem.

If you are planning on buying Luminar download and try the free trial first to make sure it runs on your hardware. When I googled it, there were hundreds of users that had the same experience as I did. When I checked the hardware requirements, my machine met all of them, but it still wouldn’t run.

And you paid $5.85 more than you should have, had you done your research.

The "store price" is for people who come in and don't know any better. It is not a real price. The "discount" "price match" price is closer to reality and a better deal, but doable. It's the store owner's decision to sell for less money (and do a higher volume) or keep his inventory on the shelf.

I like the idea of supporting the local camera shop, and in this case, you contributed an extra $12 to the bottom line.
And you paid $5.85 more than you should have, had ... (show quote)

I think your math is off. His receipt shows he bought 2 cards not one, for the price shown!

Luminar and ON 1 though a “one” time cost, charge for updates.

Actually Luminar never charged me for an update. They advertised updates were free, but I don’t know how long that will last.

An alternative to ps & lr is Skylum's Luminar. It is a one time charge. If interested you can use a trial to see if you like it. I have a discount code if interested, pm me.

https://skylum.com/luminar

If you go with Luminar you better try the trial first to see if it will run on your system. I bought Luminar a while ago, and the first free update they made stopped it from working on my system. I have a laptop, core i7 16 gl ram, 1 tb had. The problem is no separate video card. Though my gpu supports open gl 3.3, Luminar wouldn’t run. Skylum was reasonable about it and refunded my purchase price.

As an aside, I’ve noticed companies like topaz labs are building into their apps the capability of running thru the cpu, rather than the gpu, if the program won’t run. Maybe skylum would consider this to get more users. This work around runs slower, but at least gives you the option of being able to use the program until you have the hardware to run thru the gpu. Unfortunately with a laptop, upgrading the hardware usually means buying a new machine.

How could you not know how old it is?

I’ve got to check the calendar. Today must be April 1st. The op doesn’t know how old the drive is? I sent him a pm offering to fix the thing for him and his cost would have been the return postage only. It seems he is only interested in sledgehammering it? In all my years of building and repairing computers, I can’t remember anyone opting for destruction over repair with virtually no cost.

My apologies

The only boxed inks I have on hand are for my Epson and hp printers. Both have expiration dates or use by dates printed on the bottom of the boxes. I presumed canon did the same.
