Totally agree. The G9 needs better focusing, tracking and noise improvement.
Good advice, even though not everyone can follow 100%. Thank you.
Assuming the Leica Q3 is a bad value and, on the other hand, is the best in its class, and money is not an issue, then yes, life is short, so go for it. I intend to do the same.
Besides, with over 60 mp, the Q3 is good from 28 mm to 90 mm. You then only need a SWA and tele to cover your full range of photography.
Under what condition a lens like your Tamron needed a calibration? Is it due to long-time use or a bump/fall that made it out of focus?
But you only need to insert the SD card in the device slot and it will work?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081CD34DP/ref=aod_recs_desktop_prsubs_4#customerReviewsSomewhere around the studio, I have a battery/AC powered travel router bought from Newegg 10 years ago. Has 802.11 wi-fi & RJ-45, and a bit larger than a deck of cards. I tried the wireless a few times in the living room and it worked, but with a Cat5 cable it tested at 20 megabits. Used it only to back my camera cards in the field via the built in USB 2.0 hub to SSD drive with a battery bank plugged in, just so the built in battery never ran out. It reads/writes on the SSD drive just as fast as the notebook PC I used to lug around. The built in SD card backup slot is very slow given it's age, compared to using the USB hub connection to SSD, that all fit in the back compartment of my camera bag. I charged it just before Christmas 2022, misplaced it but it will turn up. I believe Motorola manufactured them briefly. Never lost a file, very dependable and sure beats packing the old notebook around. Highly recommended if you get a newer unit.
'HooToo' brand still makes a similar unit that a friend has, he's on his 2nd one. There are several other brands of these though not through Amazon. Cheers:)

This link shows the SSK device looks very good that suits travel without carrying laptop option. Does anyone have experience with it ?
This device looks simple and useful - essentially a kind of external HD. A side slot is for SD card. Is it simple to download/backup files from it, JPEG and/or RAW? It would be great for travel.
It appears that before too long the phone, TV and Photoshop will be so AIed that we don't need to learn and memorize too much. Good for old-timers like us?
I have been to both. Lower is harder to go thru than the upper, but is more spectacular. Choice of gear is simple - bring a super wide angle and leave your bag behind. Once you are inside, just keep clicking, do not waste time try to figure out anything else because you will be rushing out.

Odd... & interesting....
All my cards, maybe a dozen, were probably formatted in the camera (ONCE).
But I found that on a brand new card, the camera will put the required file structure (and files) on the card, even if I don't "format" it in the camera.
I delete all images on the card via the computer after they have been copied to the computer and backed up, then just plop that puppy back in the camera and start shooting again, without formatting it again in the camera (or computer) - it's already formatted.
Been doing this for 12+ years.
Not a single problem whatsoever with any card.
(They're all Sandisk cards.)

I have been doing the same as above and never had problems. I think except the first time, if you don't format it again, and keep shooting and delete, you would be fine.
I did not know and never tried option #3. Thanks and I will find out.
Never realized that you can convert a RAW file to B/W in playback. Then I tried it. I think doing it on computer is more flexible and gives better end result.
Sometimes a customer buys a brand new camera from B&H, then returns it for a reason related or not related to quality/performance. Is it possible that B&H would advertise and sell it as used regardless of having any issue or not?
If the second buyer actually getting the used item without any issue whatsoever, then it might be a good deal indeed.
