I purchased a Fujifilm X mount to Nikon F mount adapter because my main camera is a Nikon D810 and I wanted to be able to use my lenses on both cameras. I bought the Fujifilm X-T20 with the 18-55 lens so it makes a wonderful walk-around camera.

I shoot all my macro images in the manual mode so the application is the same for either of my cameras.

The handy macro that I use on it is the Laowa 60mm f2.8 2X Super Macro. It shoots at infinity and it has a magnification range from 0.5 up to 2.0. On the X-T20 the field of view equates to that of a 90mm. Of course if I were to buy a macro lens specifically for the X-T20 it would be the Fujifilm 80mm f2.8 macro which is the equivalent field of view of 122mm on a full frame camera....however....at $1,200 they are quite proud of that lens.

I also use a Lester A. Dine 105mm f2.8 (Nikon F mount) using the adapter also which is a truly great lens in its own right.

Another approach I use is an inexpensive M42 adapter (about $10 or so). THAT is a workhorse of an adapter (Fujifilm X to M42 thread) and then you can use a multitude of older lenses and even use microscope objectives which I do for micro-macro sessions with focus stacking technique.

I set the X-T20 to the "shoot with no lens" setting. Another excellent feature is that the X-T20 works with my Nikon SB800 flash and it works with my Meike Dual Macro Flash also. When I use the SB800 flash I place a mini-softbox on the flash head and I use a grip that allows me to get the flash out in front of the lens.

I like that combination for it is compact and lightweight and the X-T20 produces luscious rich colors.
I purchased a Fujifilm X mount to Nikon F mount ad... (show quote)

Thanks sippyjug104. I, too, am a Nikon guy - D500 - SB700 - Sigma 150 macro. Apologize for the late response - I was tied up with a friend moving and some other personal stuff. I will look into your suggestions. Re: the Fujinon 80mm - I've seen some used ones hitting the market lately for under $1K. I'm considering it.

Very nice! Question for you - I have an X-T20 that I'm thinking about buying a macro lens for - what lens and Speedlight do you use?

Very nice image. Couldn't tell you how many times I've been over that bridge in my life - A LOT!

Very nice set. Among many things, one of the things I love about Parisians - there is absolutely no weather, hot/cold, rain/snow/drought, whatever, that will deter them from sitting outside and enjoying whatever beverage they chose, smoking, and engaging in conversation or reading a newspaper/book.

The first time I shot a full moonset in morning light, I could not believe how fast it disappeared as it touched the horizon line. You can easily see the movement in your viewfinder.

No different than a sunrise/sunset. Definitely see the motion in the viewfinder.

As I wrote earlier, No.

However, I'm still puzzled by your question.

That makes us even - I'm puzzled by your answer. Have you never purchased anything used - home, car, camera, lens, tripod, cooking equipment, computer, tablet? Anything? I have, and I've rarely been disappointed with the decision and, with the exception of one thing I can recall, a baseball bat that my son did not like, I'd do it all again. I think I've saved significant dollars over buying new for those items.

Why your aversion?

No, but what has that got to do with the subject at hand?

BTW, I did purchase 3 brand new 2TB HGST drives and am quite pleased with them. That decision was based on Back Blazes assessment of drives.

What I think it has to do with the subject at hand is - the HGST drives are the best performing in the tests. If they cleaned on of those drives and offered it to you a discount you wouldn't buy it from them?

That's one of the reasons I use them for remote backup. They seem to have an intent interest in hardware.

Would you buy a used 4TB HGST from a reputable source?

Some shots from the Gwynedd Preserve in North Wales, PA and Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, PA. I've noticed that the wasps seem to be gone. I think the spider is an Orb Weaver. It was trying to get inside my bag. I guess to make a home for the contents of that sack? Curious about the dragonfly since the only match I could find online was from the UK? The Cabbage White is something I've been trying to do for a while - get a butterfly in flight. Also, I'm pretty sure the other shot is a bit of Cabbage White mating? The spider had spun it's web across the top of a very large urn and it's a very small spider. I have no idea about it's identity?
