So you are in the US military and your boat stops at a foreign country and you buy a camera . Them You get stationed in the US so now you got no warranty for something you bought legitimately ?? Sound like the manufacturer is giving you the shaft.

These were only recently stopped production as you could still buy them in south America into the 2000's I belive. They only quit importing they to the US as they would not meet the emissions for the US. They probably didn't pass the crash tests also.
Weather they are unionized or not has no bearing on quality . It is who the people you are hiring . There are good quality people that are unionized and bad people and a union is only as good as the people in it. It is unfortunate that most people notice the poor people. I have worked a long side both types. Been in unions and not in unions and always o the best work I can. Only reason I didn't stay in a union I ha dreams that I need to go after. But my work was always to notch. So the only thing is they must have hired some poor quality workers. Or they are not trained correctly.
No my grand daughter wanted a camera for christmas. I think that we just have to spark the interest. Also as a bus driver I have taken many high school students to a school that teaches photography .

Ask your self it may have been a jury award which often times goes beyond reason. Any given lawyer has a different opinion at any given time.so between lawyer's , judges , jury's , and insurance company's they have screwed up the reasonable costs of product liability insurance . Makes it difficult to be competitive .

Not albino he would not have color in the eyes they are usually pink when the animal is albino. Here in Mn you see white squirrels some times. The photo are good.

Thank you both it is good to know that there are still some businesses that still have pride in themself and they try to do the right thing for their customers. My primary concern is that I need to feel that they can be trusted to do there best to be as honest and straight forward with their customers and take pride in what they are trying to do.
But it is hard to know what there rating is compared to what you might expect.
I have been on the HEK site but I really do not like the fact that they don't post an actual picture of the item you might be interested in.

Thank you -budget always seems to have a way of limiting the next steps - when digital started the cost of a good body was very hard to justify . Put my SLR's away until good use equipment started to show up and time was right to try again with the hobby. I am going to have to do more reading on the lenes I guess.
