Thank you. (though according to my local blogger & bird expert, that was identified as a red-tailed & juvenile Cooper's hawk.)
It has been brought to my attention that I (unintentionally, I assure you) -'hijacked' your thread by posting my own photo(s). I believed my post to be in the spirit of you asking about other birders, & was unaware this would be looked at as my trying to pull attention away from your beautiful shot.
So, here I am, a 'newbie' & already got in trouble by the teacher on the FIRST day. ;o) Please accept my sincerest apologies SJD, for that was not my intention.
My apologies as well, to anyone who may have frowned upon my unintentional actions.
That's a great shot! (what kind of bird & where is that?) I can imagine they are quite a challenging subject.
(One of my subjects is church steeples ...but they aren't going anywhere!) Thanks for sharing.
I enjoy watching, feeding & occasionally, if I'm lucky, photographing the birds in my yard here in Upstate NY.
Here are a couple I took w/ my Canon point & shoot...
Thanks very much Rocco!
I appreciate the visit & the positive feedback
& look forward to sharing & learning here on 'the hog'...
(...& if my mug does scare, at least I picked the right time of year! ;)
Whoa! Talk about 'up close & personal';I didn't need to give you that large a shot of my mug! Hope I didn't scare anyone! :O)
I am an avid photographer of mostly outdoor & existing light photography, living in Upstate NY. The last couple yrs I've also enjoyed doing 'photo restoration'. Deteriorating vision from a progressive eye disease has at times made my photography difficult, even having to give it up at one time because I could no longer focus my shots. The transition to Digital gave me back the ability to photograph, as well as the creative control that I had years ago when I managed a photo lab.
I currently use a Canon point & shoot.
(...until the camera-fairy brings me a digital SLR. :o)
I have set up a (little-traveled) website in an attempt to get my work out there & do some work from home, as yet, to no avail ....but I've fulfilled a dream just getting it up & running & having it there.
Feel free to visit & let me know what you think;

Thanks, I look forward to participating in this community!
