Just curious. Are you looking for feedback on these photos or just posting them for our viewing? (They do go in Gallery but admin can deal with that...odd what they chose to move and what to not move.)

wannabe63 - if you still need help, reach out directly via PM. I can't continue to watch this discussion of how to not use LR.

Why people use five different programs to do what LR can do is beyond me. There are a few ways to do what the OP wants in LR which should be enough.

Simple is not always easy I guess.

It’s easy to happen. Thankfully it’s not a huge amount of $$.

Fwiiw, I recently assisted a community organization with a large rummage sale. Thousands of dollars were transferred in small amounts. We accepted Zelle and it worked perfectly. And it’s safe, accurate. Etc. Maybe next time!

Thanks, that was my understanding as well. Have you tried to do handheld video at 400mm focal length with this lens?

I have...what I do is brace myself, as if shooting a pistol, against something and it works great. I attached a photo that I think was shot out that far. If not it was nearly at 400. The santa was real! Not. I just added it on PS as a lark since I shot this on Xmas eve.

I also have used it straight up hand held and it works...need to have a decent shutter speed, of course, but it works.

Frankly, I'd look at the Oly 150-600 if I shot long stuff...but I can't justify it. This was the Pany lens...a very good copy I might add.

For me, m43 works just fine.

You have no clue what you’re talking about. ON Systems makes a 100-400mm lens that is very good. It’s only $1500, (currently on sale for $1300). I shoot both FF Nikon and M4/3 and yes my Z9 with the 180-600 is a great combo but I also get great stuff from my OM-1 with the 100-400, and yes the OIS in the lens works in conjunction with the IBIS in the body. Yes the smaller sensor of the same vintage can be subject to more noise, but the newer OM-1 sensor is better in low light than the older sensors in both of those Nikons.

This from DigitalCameraWorld.com on the Oly 100-400. DP Review verified this as well. I am assuming they know what they're talking about.

"The Olympus M.Zuiko 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 IS comes with the weather sealing and freeze-proofing that is normally reserved for Olympus' series of Pro lenses – though it doesn't feature the Sync-IS system featured in Pro glass (which works in tandem with the in-body image stabilization of Olympus cameras, to provide extra stability), instead offering 3-stops of compensation via lens IS. "

In summary, the two image stabilization systems do not work together.

Users report that using IBIS or lens only stabilization works just fine. I have the Pany 100-400 which is in the same boat when paired with my Oly gear...I don't see a problem..works just fine for me.

In spite of the buzz kills here, the point of the post was that there is a refurbished sale on Nikon gear. Maybe concentrate on that.

And when I say no PayPal I mean you receive the camera and then send a check or cash. No need to pay up front.

Free to a good home. This is a film camera. The camera requires a Duracell (or similar) 245 lithium battery. They are avail for about $15. I do not know if the camera works. Battery is dead.

But you can take it, get the battery and if it works it works. All I ask is that you reimburse me for shipping. I send you the camera and you send me a check or cash. No PayPal and all that.

I’ll include a case as well.

PM me if you want it.

Less light per smaller pixel? Think a smaller bucket carries less water. That is why people go to full frame sensors. Or why a micro 4/3 camera is better in low light than a camera with a 1 inch sensor (ie. the Sony RX10 mIV with a 1 inch sensor can shoot at 600mm equivalent with a much lighter and smaller lens than the OM-1).

Once again, M43 user here.

M43 is not as good in low light conditions. So one needs to up the ISO or have faster lenses. I can say that the denoise and AI have really helped me resurrect a few shots that otherwise would have been too grainy. As with all systems, there are tradeoffs. Low light is on the negative side of the equation.

A few OM pluses: 1. 5 axis internal stabilization, reputed to be the best in the business 2. Less obtrusive 3. Supremely water resistant, dust proof, and still works well below zero. The only time I need a tripod is if I’m doing HDR, bracketing, fireworks, astrophotography. How water resistant you may ask? I took what would now be an 8 year old Olympus on Maid of the Mist and to cave of the Winds at Niagara Falls with no protection for my camera and it functioned flawlessly! Can Nikon boast the same? And, yes, the lighter weight is a plus. As to the lens… Oh, and image quality, oh that! Far better than anything I captured with my Nikon.

All true. I did the same at Niagara Falls. I never protect my gear. IBIS is exceptional. But is it with it? I don’t know.

I am a m43 user and not offended at all re the issue of why jump into M43. M43 is a very specific camera system. It has limitations that the user really has to know about and deal with.

Unless I needed M43 for travel, or wanted to really downsize to the OMD em5 and smaller lenses I’d just sty with Nikon.

Also that beast of a lens is pricy, heavy and really would only be used effectively by a small number of photogs. 150 to 600 is equal to 300 to 1200 in ff terms. I can’t imagine wanting or using it.

The Oly pro lenses are very special super sharp great lenses. But getting into all that would cost a lot of $$.

I don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze in this case. Stick with the gear you have.

First, did you synchronize the clocks on the various cameras before your trip started?

In LR in the Library view, you have the ability to sort by capture date so all the images would then be presented in time sequence. This same sorting order can be used to 'order' your output files via the LR Export. When you export, use this sort order and give the files a new common name that includes a sequential counter in the file name. If you need more detailed help on how to do the export, let me know in the responses.

CHG has the right answer. Skip all the crazy and just put the pics into a folder, import into LR and you can mix n match as you see fit. People who do all the machinations of making catalogs and using special software and then import into LR totally misunderstand databases.

In fact when we travel I have multiple sources. For instance last trip we were in a large group and everyone was shooting pics. I make a book for the entire group. I simply get all their photos, import them into my named folder and sort as I want. I can do by date and camera or whatever.

And as mentioned on cameras other than smart phones you have to either synchronize the cameras to local time or to Zulu. If you screw that up it is possible to batch alter the exif time but try to avoid it.
