Thank you all for your input. I purchased a monitor and I am back in business!!
The laptop is set for multiple monitors, When I attached the HDMI to the laptop, the monitor "flickered" momentarily, but remained dark. When I press the control on the monitor, it displays the menu, but nothing else. The monitor's probably no more than 4 or 5 years old. Thanks for your help.
Yesterday, my wife wanted to use the desktop computer, so I logged off and logged her in. She never did get to use the computer (which had been in sleep mode for hours), so I "woke it up" only to discover that there was nothing on the monitor - only a dark screen, so I turned everything off. This morning, the same thing - only a dark screen! I powered up my laptop and attempted to connect the monitor to it, but the results were the same. I even switched HDMI cables to see if that was the problem, but nothing! My question, then, do you suppose that it may be the monitor?? Since it won't work from the laptop, I'm assuming (yeah, I know!) that it isn't the desktop video card. I would appreciate any insight that you might offer. Thank you in advance!!

It's going to be interesting to see how Joe is going to solve all the problems he hasn't been able to for 40+ years.

I don't normally respond to anything in the Attic, but I keep hearing "What did Joe do for over 40 years? What problems did he solve?" Joe Biden was one among many, he didn't have the power of the Presidency. Is Mitch McConnell your idea of someone who accomplished something (other than obstruct anything that was a Democratic idea??)?
I read once that the perfect night time security system was 2 Dobermans with no bark.
He instigated this whole thing and now he says that it's wrong??
Rather than sending it back to Nikon, take it to Service Photo on Falls Road to have them take a look at it. They are an authorized Nikon dealer.
Ahhh, yes, the peaks of knowledge, at 6 you have all of the questions and at 16 you have all of the answers.
I had a Citizen EcoDrive watch and loved it. One day, it just stopped working so I took it to a repair facility and they replaced the capacitor for $160. Six months later, it stopped again so I bought a Seiko Solar and it still works flawlessly.
Awww, come on, we're being too hard on old Mitch! He finally found it in his heart to include money for stimulus checks for the common man! Of course, this happened only after he found out that not doing so was hurting the e******n chances of those Georgia Republican Senators!
Jerry, when my DeWalt cordless drill bit the dust, I went looking for a replacement. After a lot of research, I settled on Ridgid brand. They are 18 volt tools and there are different amp-hour levels (which fit all of their cordless tools), but what sold me was the fact that once you register the tool with them, the batteries are warranted for life!
No problem, thanks for getting back to me.
It looks like it's $8.30. Do you use Zelle? It goes through your bank and has no fees attached to it. I also have some UV filters sized 77mm, one 82 mm and at least one "cross star" filter. All of these will fit into the same small flat rate box. Let me know. And thank you for my one positive feedback 😊
