I knew someone would be up to the challenge. You're just the person for the job. The word vibrant comes to mind. I'm impressed.

Thanks Erich, glad you like what I came up with.
Since we're always changing color to B&W, I decided I'd us this exercise to turn a B&W photo back to color. So here's my entry, a take on contemporary impressionism ...
Gotta be at least one B&W entry, so here's mine ...
Wow, tough choice this week ... I’m going with #8.

I wonder if we have any of those in our lakes? I should go fishing more often!

Cropping brought out the softness of the background, but I thought it focused on the best part of the scene.

Great crop; a completely different shot now.

Here is my vision for your picture. Puffins got a little lost and ended in California.
LOL! I think they look right at home there. They'll stay until they can't afford the CA taxes anymore, then they'll head back to the North East waters.
Ooh, it does ... love the colors!
I took this shot of Mono Lake a number of years ago as I was traveling from Reno, NV to San Diego. The lake is situated in the eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range. I have always loved the rock formations out there but for one reason, or another, I never had stopped for photos. This time I was traveling alone AND had my camera with me.
You can download the image to your computer and edit it anyway that you wish. Composites, tonal shifts, lighting alterations, anything that you feel enhances or alters the photo creatively. Then, post your edit in this thread. Edits can be submitted until Thursday at around 9:00 pm. Then we will go to voting.
Thanks and enjoy.
[quote=ebrunner][quote=deer2ker]Hey All,
First off, thank you. I have learned so much in this group (and have so much more to learn!)
Here is a picture that I took just this last week driving past downtown Nashville. Playing with this pic showed me it has promise - let me see what you can do with it! I was only able to download in .jpg
Looks good to me! Next thing ya know, you’ll be painting on a Wacom tablet. Now that you are working with brushes, take a few minutes on YouTube to learn how to create your own custom brushes. There are lots of tutorials that will really help you.
Good luck, and we all look forward to your next creation.

I like that! I wish they would have those massive sized graphics like that, like they do in Hollywood. They do something similar with album releases or for winning artists and their labels off the side of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

donolea, I appreciate your intent. You and others have inspired me to learn more skills in this area. I struggle and am not very good, definitely not good enough to post anything. I still enjoy doing what I can. Thanks for your contributions.
Thanks Matt, glad I could help to inspire you. I think I originally started doing it to see if there was a way to salvage photos that were either over, or underexposed, or out of focus.
