Thanks for the update. Do you know if it takes QXD cards? And does it download RAW files? Did you get it from B and H?
Thanks
David
Thanks. I looked at it and it seemed interesting. Please let me know how you like it.
Sound advice and shared by many others.
Thanks
I totally agree. A backup is better but there doesn’t seem to be a viable backup system for traveling yet. So every couple of days I’ll change cards. When I go on a road trip or a workshop I bring my laptop and backup every evening. This is a different kind of trip.
I like this suggestion and have already bought extra cards. Thanks.
I thank everyone for their input. I looked at various backups including a $1000 plus iPad with an additional gadget that allows for downloads for both SD cards and QXD cards to the iPad. I did get into the details so I don’t even know if it takes RAW.
However I’m taking the advice of couple of you and buying extra cards and a sturdy container. I will enjoy the trip and not download. Another gadget is not necessary. Thanks to everyone.
I have a Lowepro backpack that easily carries both cameras. I will take whichever camera is appropriate for the day and I have a soft shoulder bag that either camera can fit in with extra batteries and cards. I’m only taking one zoom lens for the NIKON and a fixed 15 (30 equivalent) for the Olympus.
Backup for the QXD card is mostly the issue.
I’m going to Amsterdam/Belgium on a bike trip etc for about 11 days and I will be taking my Nikon Z7 for landscape and Olympus Pen F for street shots. So two different cards with two different card readers. I will not be taking my MacBook Pro but I would like to back up my photos each evening. Any (lightweight) suggestions? Thanks, David
I have a MacBook Pro. Any suggestions for that?
That's what I use now I just didn't know what they were called.
Thanks for all your advice. Very helpful.

What is a software monitoring tool?
David
On the initial copy do I just drop and drag the entire contents on the the new drive?
Also if I back up every few weeks and just copy the new images onto the backup disk then the backup disk will not have the edits I made recently to older images. Is time machine more efficient?
Thanks again. I have another related question. Now that I’ve copied all my images from a old and probably failing drive to a new 4 TB drive what’s the best way to now copy that to another similar drive for backup or should I just use time machine? David
I named the new drive the same as the old drive and LR read it perfectly.
Thanks for the advice.
David
I will buy another drive and back it up. Thanks
