I am considering a new camera and would appreciate thoughts from anyone with practical experience with the Nikon D7100 and the Pentax K5 iis (if there is such a person). I do mostly landscape photography and use an Olympus M 4/3 system. The D7100 and K5 are at the price point I want to be and seem to have the specs I need. ( Hopefully I am not putting too much trust in DXOMark) That said, on paper the Pentax has a little better Dynamic range but the Nikon has better ISO. I would love to hear any real experience on how much these differences (dynamic range and ISO) really are in these 2 cameras.
Additionally anyone have real experience with the sigma 17-50 2.8 in either camera case. Lastly I am not finding an obvious choice of a super long telephoto (wildlife) for the pentax, any suggestions? (think comparable to the tamron or sigma 150-600 for Nikon)
thanks,
Don

I am now looking at Colormunki for $149 at B&H. Do any of my fellow picture takers use this instrument? Or, what do you use for calibration?
Thanks for your input!
I use the colormunki (display), upgraded to windows 10 a couple weeks ago. All is well.
Any of you Oylmpus m43 shooters have/had an issue with the tripod socket? I started to notice a bunch of wobble and thought I'd worn out my tripod till I noticed the bulge around the socket on the bottom of camera body. Turns out one of the mounting tabs on the socket has cracked. Olympus won't sell me the part but suggests I send it in for repair. (I'm out of warranty). I have found the part online and am thinking an add on base plate/handle might be additional insurance against another break. How it broke is a mystery, the camera has never been dropped or abused though it is possible a quick release plate with a longer screw than the socket was installed at some point. Any thoughts or experiences before I proceed are appreciated.
