Still too early. They're the last of the cacti to bloom -- usually in June.

It's for smart phones only. As the Adobe website states, "Photoshop Express is specifically built for mobile device photography."

Just so you know, it's "Milan" in English and "Milano" in Italian -- not "Malan."

I’m a newbie and am asking for guidance regarding photo editing software. I haven’t been able to understand PS & LR and am looking for “photo editing software for dummies.” Any recommendations about how to get my feet wet and learn slow and easy?

Check out ACDSee -- they have several editing programs depending on what level you want. Also check out prior threads on UHH that have discussed this topic many, many times.

I, too, will be in Arizona--leaving tomorrow. We have the Botanical Garden on our to-do list, along with the Lost Dutchman State Park along side the Superstition Mountains. There should be some wild flowers out there with the beautiful mountains for a backdrop--although the rain has been almost non-existent this spring, so, who knows about the flowers. Looks like I'll be leaving about the time you get there. Fly home on the 23rd. Hope you have a great time!

Where did you get the idea that "the rain has been almost non-existent this spring"? Actually, we've had a lot of rain this Spring, much more than usual. So much so, I've had to shut off the bubblers for my shrubs several times and have collected enough rain water that I haven't had to use the hose for watering plants in pots that are not on my bubbler system. Should be lots of Spring flowers.

It's just beginning. Best place for all kinds of desert flora, cacti, succulents, is Desert Botanical Garden (https://dbg.org/) in East Phoenix on Galvin Parkway between Scottsdale and Tempe, and their great semi-annual Butterfly Exhibit is now going on along with the Chihuly glass sculptures. You can spend anywhere from a couple of hours to a full day wondering around--longer if you take a break at their gourmet restaurant with great patio at the entrance or their self-service snack bar, also with a great patio in the middle of the garden. No need to drive out to the desert. But if you still feel inclined, drive out to Carefree from N. Scottsdale.

Also keep in mind that if he ever wants to upgrade the K100D to a newer or current model Pentax DSLR, any Pentax, Tamron or Sigma K-mount lens will work on any later or current model Pentax DSLR.

Yes it is---but the moderator should not relegate it to the ATTIC? What more important a lens purchase is there for a photographer?---a once in a lifetime purchase. And satisfaction by others is more important than the salesman doctor who favors or is proficient in one lens format or another? You may or may not have an "honest broker." Do photographers defer to the camera store salesmen and not research satisfaction or lens types for Nikon or Canon. This should be put back on the front burner and out of the attic.----ew (This is not medical information like discussing your gall bladder!)

Amen! Right on and well said, OldSchool-WI

In addition to special lenses (e.g., toric, multifocal, etc.) could those who have had cataract surgery please discuss whether they had traditional or laser-assisted surgery, and why, and any differences (other than the extra $1,000 or so per eye for the laser-assisted surgery and the fact that laser-assisted surgery may correct mild astigmatism without the need of using special lenses)?

I have a SCHEDULED rider with New York Central Mutual homeowners. Lists my camera equipment, MacBook Pro laptop + jewelry. Cost is $44 annually for $3,360 in camera equipment with no deductible. Covers loss, theft, damage, misplacement and mysterious disappearance. Love NYCM. Reimbursed for whatever value is listed on the schedule. Worth it.

Same for me with my USAA insurance, except that it's a separate personal effects policy and not a rider, and coverage is at current replacement value up to the amount listed for the item(s) in the policy. I have had many claims over the years including theft and accidental damage or loss (including dropping a camera in a lake, busing a lens when I fell on some stairs, dropping a camera out of my backpack while riding my bike, etc., and all claims were handled promptly and with only one phone call. Of course, to be eligible for USAA insurance you have to be present or former military.

I suggest you check out ACDSee, which has several levels of programs, before you buy anything else.

I don't know if you have been following but I have a buyer for the lens if you are still interested in the camera. I will put some pics up today and get the shutter count. Thanks.

Thanks, but after my previous response I researched the K3-II's specs (I should have done that sooner) and I discovered that it does not have a built-in flash (like my K5 and K7 that I use), nor does it have an articulated display. So, bottom line is that even though image-quality wise the K3-II is a better and improved camera compared to my K5, it is missing 2 features that I want for upgrading my K5. It makes little sense for me to spend several hundred dollars for an upgraded DSLR that does not have those features.

Thanks anyway, Lou

What is the shutter count on the camera, and would you sell just the camera w/o the lens, and if so, how much?

Without know what configuration the Envy and Spectre have that you are considering, it's impossible to tell which one one is "better" for photo editing. However, for photo editing, you want the highest resolution display, the fastest CPU and the largest SSD you can afford -- in this case, more is better. For a good comparison of these 2 HPs, their performance and the optional add-ons for each, take a look at https://www.laptopmag.com/news/hp-envy-x360-vs-spectre-x360-2020.

I much prefer the 1st image. Like Cwilson I like the water in the foreground. I also feel the colors are more vibrant; the 2nd image looks kind of washed out in comparison. But mostly I like the way the cabin stands alone as the hero in the 1st image without makeup or framing. Even though the age and some neglect is apparent, you can still imagine bringing it back to life and making it livable again.

Ditto re #1 and I don't like the sky in #2 -- # 1 is much better all around.
