That is a great idea. Joe seems more outgoing, Richard is more reserved, even on stage. They put on a great show. That must be hard work, on the road like that. When they had the show in Indianapolis they said they had been in Wisconsin the night before. So they had an all night bus ride to get to Indy and set up for the show. They said they were heading back to Nashville after the show, probably for some well deserved rest.

You are correct. Very talented and everyone wants a piece of them. When they parked their bus they were very outgoing except for Richard who strolled away and didn't return. Got some great closeups of Joe, I mean face to face.

For the past three years my wife and I have attended many concerts at the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana. I have posted many photos of the concerts we have attended. Last night we attended "The Oak Ridge Boys" concert, one of our favorites. As usual, I carried my Canon 70D with Tamron 16-300 lens. I was stopped by security at the entrance and told that cameras with removable lenses were not allowed. I argued that I had carried this camera there before, and that I set it so no flash is used. He got on his little radio and checked with his boss, who confirmed, no DSLR cameras. So I took my camera back to the car, re-entered the theater and enjoyed the concert. What is confusing is that before the show, an announcement was made that audio and video recording of the show is prohibited, but still photos were allowed, but the use of flash is not allowed. So of course during the show everybody was taking cell phone photos, most with flash. Just wondering if anyone has run into that problem before.

Next time catch them outdoors. At the NYS Fair they pulled up in their bus and for 30 minutes did a meet and greet. Joe signed autographs and willingly took selphies. I took one of my small Leicas and have pictures of all the boys at close range. Richard was not so open.

Same thing with The Who. Most bands could get away with new drummers or bass players, but it's just not The Who any more without John Entwistle and Keith Moon. As for the Beach Boys, the big band that Brian Wilson has been touring with does an outstanding job pulling off the Beach Boys classics like Good Vibrations live.

You are correct as I have seen him numerous times, but I grew up on Brian, Carl, Dennis, Al and Mike, Bruce Johnston and David Marks not John Cowsill, Jeff Foskett etc.

Happens to us all, I commend him for reckonizing the problem and doing something about it before he looses all of his hearing.

I agree with his decision but the brother on Angus, Malcom is no longer with the band and Phil Rudd is gone as well. This has become a tribute band. I certainly would not pay to see a Beatles reunion when Lennon and Harrison are no long with the band. Some bands like to have a slow death. A perfect example of that is my favourite band The Beach Boys. I remember a concert when Al Jardine was the only player and his group included only family and friends. His contribution of Help Me Rhonda was exceptional but Al singing Brian or Carl Wilson and Bruce's Disney Girls was not worth the price of admission.

I saw these boys back in the 80's in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena and along with the concert program received tinnitus as a memory. I can't imagine the funding on the ears year after year.
I suffer from tinnitus to this day.

A year ago is when I first heard about this it was the $20 bill. Then later it became the $10 bill, and now back to the $20 bill. This time with possible double portraits on it. I realize Native Americans don't like Andrew Jackson and salute this change, and may have been the final determination. Jackson had flaws, but he defeated the British in 1812 when they wanted to re-take America. And he was President for 8 years.

So was Obama.

Now I know it an hoax, but for the sake of argument just tell me how could they reach the lake when the seaway lock systems was at that time only about 25 feet deep and the very fist set of rapid in Montreal at best 10 feet deep

It was flown in by a hot air balloon similar to the Hindenburg in the dead of night. Softly lowered into the water. The draft was only 10 feet thus it had 15 feet to spare. Customs in Massena was no issue as the crew was dressed in American Navy Issue and spoke perfect English. I am not sure where they went from there, whether it was outward to the Atlantic to pick on American vessels or Niagara Falls and on to Lake Erie to Cleveland to visit The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or attend a Braves game. I lost track of them after that.

Hmmm, let's see now, hmmmm ? You first joined UHH back in October of 2014 and here you are today closing a case on something that none of us have ever seen for you to know about. In case you missed it, I am referring to the fact that you have never posted one single photograph on this forum so that we others might see just how great your well protected lenses take photographs.
Do you have any ? Come on, omnipotent one, show us your stuff !

I guess that was pointed at me. I know who I am and my capabilities as a photographer...this is not show and tell. As far as omnipotent one, that was uncalled for.

Hype, I don't really know, but if the Tiffen transmits 98-99% of the light, that's telling me that 1% or 2% of light is lost ~ which means the Tiffen still isn't as good as a lens without a filter placed in front of it.

As for lens protection, I can understand why some people will use a filter, but I am a person who protects my lenses so well that I treat them as if they were actually my own eyeballs and believe me, if I think that I am going to be subjected to wind blown dust and debris, I don't go out in it ! My eyes and my lenses are far more valuable to me than having the need to take a photograph in inclement conditions. In other words, I am a wuss when it comes to exposing my eyes or my camera lenses to the elements when it is unnecessary.

Even if you have a protective filter on a camera lens, you must also remember that if your lens is a zoom lens and you are in dusty conditions, dust will get inside the lens and when dust gets on the inner glass elements of a lens, you will end up with a new set of problems ~ filter or not !

Have we not beaten this subject to death?

I'm with you. No lens goes out the door without filter protection...

Indeed. I dropped my Bronica lens and if it had no protection I would have had a real issue. Shattered the UV filter which needed tape to remove shattered glass but lens was fine.

Yes the locks were there in 1940. The St. Lawrence Seaway opened in 1956. Prior to that there was a canal system that dated back to the nineteenth century. I remember as a boy in Montreal during the war visiting my grandparents who lived over one of the powerhouses on the Lachine Canal. (He had been the stationary engineer in charge of it.) We needed a special pass to enter the canal area which was guarded by Canadian soldiers. I have very vivid memories of ships passing within feet of his living room window. In those days Montreal called itself "the world's biggest inland seaport." Ships from Europe would go to Montreal. Cargo would be transferred from or to the lakers which then steamed up the Great Lakes. It was much the same in Cornwall Ontario where I also lived at one time. The old locks in both places as well as the old Lachine and Soulanges canals were abandoned. The once scenic rapids at Milles Roches (a thousand rocks) were flooded. The old Cornwall canal is still there but unused. I'm not sure what happened to the Soulanges and Lachine canals. In think the Soulanges was inundated. Interesting marine history but German U Boats were never a part of it.

Yes, until recently.
