This isn't the first time Adorama has posted "misprints" as false advertising:
48% of $2495.00 is $1197.60. "Save" $1197.60 off $2495.00 and you get a price of $1297.40 for the camera!
DO THE MATH!
I apologize, but this was a data entry error. We uploaded a Sony rebate for 4/24 - 4/30 at the end of March, then Sony announced a price drop which lowered the price and our system showed both the price drop AND the high rebate together, bringing the total price down way below cost, and way below Sony MAP.
Had we received only one or two orders, we could possibly have gone some way to accommodating the error, but the number we received made this impossible. In addition, Sony does not permit us to sell below their price point or we risk losing authorized reseller status.
Per our terms and conditions:
http://www.adorama.com/help/termsAndConditions - We make every effort to provide you with an error-free Web site. However, in the event there is a misprint, we reserve the right to correct copy or pricing to reflect the actual current status.
The error was noted Sunday, April 24 at 10:16 PM, after the end of the first part of the Jewish Passover Holiday. Our Customer Service Manager was alerted immediately, at home, and at once he sent an email to every person who had placed an order.

Thanks for the explanation, their are a lot of disappointed photographers and this is world Wide. "I still purchase equipment from your store, this was the first mess up I experienced"

Almost all manufacturers have "MAP" pricing, but you routinely sell products below MAP, why is Sony any different than Pentax?? Here is the Pentax 150-450 which Pentax has MAP Priced at $2499, yet you are selling it at $1999, $500 below MAP and well below normal dealer cost.
Seems you are quite selective about what you sell at MAP and what you discount at will.

As detailed above, it was not a misprint.
I will try to explain more clearly:
We had rebates posted on this lens, then Sony dropped the price of the lens.
That occurred while we were closed for the Passover Holiday.
It needed someone to remove the rebate data from the system, but nobody was working.
Hence the lens appeared with both the rebate and the price drop together, until a member of our web team spotted it last Saturday night when the first part of the Passover Holiday was through.
Does that help?

Some manufacturers enforce MAP pricing more aggressively than others; Sony and Nikon the most.
Sony will simply refuse to send us units if we attempt to sell them below their price point, and they will remove us from authorised reseller status.

Maybe if they did, you'd be a little bit more careful about monitoring your ads. And how dare you attempty to use observation of a religious holiday to excuse such egregious errors?!

If they were in California, they would have been caught; their disclaimer would have no authority under California law, which would have required immediate posting of a correction. Carter, what would Sony say about Adoramas carelessness?

Mistakes happen, that's unfortunate. Once they are corrected all is well. Its actually not against MAP policy to SELL for less than MAP, its just against policy to ADVERTISE for less than MAP. I think its unfortunate that stores like Adorama and B&H regularly get away with MAP violation for the sake of price wars. Doing so is in direct violation of their signed MAP contracts with the manufacturers and apparently only Sony and Nikon rigidly enforce their contracts. I wish all manufacturers would enforce then equally, it would make for a much more fair market.

One might wonder how close these MAP's come to price-fixing, which we both know are violations of Federal law, but are regularly practiced.
If you read Helen's explanation, it is perfectly clear. A rebate and a reduction overlapped during a period when the store was closed.
