The update is 21H1. The error is 0x800704b-0x4000. Microsoft sent a link for me to download. It appeared that was reinstalling Windows 10 Pro. It did not reinstall and removed everything that it had done. Microsoft is now failing to respond to me.

Do you have a phone number for Microsoft? I had 4 numbers and none of them work. I had to use the chat feature. That did not solve my problem. And, MS has not answered my email from a week ago.

Wonderful. If we don't get the Afgans who assisted the US troops out we will never get help from another country again. Hopefully, all of the US citizens can be located and evacuated.

I like saving my photos to the hard drive so when the network goes down, I can still access them. Last, I have a Masters in IT and a software patent. We all know that the hard drive has directories and folders. On my computer, there is a OneDrive directory and then a separate This Computer hard drive directory. So, I deleted the files from OneDrive and thought I would keep the photos in my This Computer Pictures sub-directory. So I deleted the OneDrive photos.

Well, you guessed it. Somehow all the photos located in the This Computer Pictures subdirectory were also deleted. And no, the This Computer/Pictures sub-directory was not also highlighted.

I could have restored them from the Recycle Bin BUT my personality is such that I immediately delete files from the Recycle Bin to have as much as disk space as possible and to not let it become "cluttered" with files that I don't want. 0:(

The good news is that this is a new computer so the files from my previous trips are on on my old computer and also backed up. I am hoping (and will check after I send this ?) that I also didn't have Olympus Workspace set up to delete the files after they are uploaded. Typically, I don't...

So, moving forward, would someone please explain how deleting files in OneDrive also causes the same files to be deleted in This Computer Pictures sub-directory?

I have the same basic problem with OneDrive. I shut down OneDrive, but pictures still are getting to it. I do NOT save photes to OneDrive. I save them to a Pictures directory on my hard drive. If I try to delete them from OneDrive my Lightroom catalog can't find them. If I right click on a folder in Lightroom, select "Show in Explorer", the folder is in One Drive. I called OneDrive and was told I could just move things out of OneDrive to where I wanted them. When I called back and told them it didn't work, I was told to call Microsoft. I haven't done that. I'm going to call Adobe to see if they have a solution.

I call back and ask to speak to a supervisor but just get an arrogant sadistic man who says there's nothing he can do, I have to start answering the questions all over again. I said this is crazy and I won't do business with Amazon if they can't resolve this with just three more questions. He answers real arrogantly "would you like me to cancel your account?" I say sure and call him a torrent of filthy names at which he laughs and hangs up.

That's why I'll never use Amazon again. Of course I couldn't if I wanted to because I can't log on. I spent 7 years working in credit card authorization for American Express and authorized purchases of many thousands, once even $250K at an international airport on a Sunday night, faster and with fewer questions to verify the card holder's identity than Amazon can to reset my logon.

I am emailing a copy of this post directly to Jeff Bezos jeff@amazon.com, just to see if he or his team gives a crap.

Always check the from email address before responding to emails from companies requesting any information. They are usually scams, and if they have a phone number don't call it.

I've been using 2 screens for a long time. It works great for many things; especially Photoshop. I have my image on the larger monitor and my pallets on the smalled monitor.

Yes, I agree that too many are suffering hardships caused by the v***s. All I’m saying is it would seem to make more sense to give 1200 or even more to those suffering than giving 600 to everyone indiscriminately. If the IRS can’t find out, there are others that can, certainly there’s a better way.


My last response. This one ought to make you real happy -- The first stimulus package law was taken to court and prisoners received the $1200 and the $600.

I don't think you have a clue. The IRS doesn't have access to uneployment records. And, people are still filing for unemployment due to recent job loss. I'm glad you don't appear to be suffering a financial hardship and neither am I, but I have empathy for those who are. Even though eviction have been stopped in some area, landlords are cutting off utilities to cause evictions. People can' feed their children. Businesses are permanently closing due to the shut down which creates more jobloss and hardships. PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING IN EVERY STATE OF THE UNION.

The IRS hss no immediate way of determining who is experiencing an economic hardship and who is not. They also cannot determine who had a change in income from prior year tax returns. The Federal Government did the best they could to try to get the economy going again.

If you don't want your check give it to the local pantry and don't worry about any one else.

The 2020 Form 1040 has 2 line items that ask if you received each check. If you say "no" to either one it will be credited on you tax return.

I currently use an HP Officejet Pro 8710. It prints, copies, scans, and faxes. I've been using HP Officejet all in ones for many years, and I'm extremely satisfied with them. The print quality is always excellent. Hope this helps.

The only time my rebates were delayed was when I purchased 2 expensive items. If you go to their website there is a tab for the Rebate Center. You can check the status, and send an email to them regarding the delay. You cannot call them, because all you get is a recording.
