Tried putting Sony battery in, removing sd card and charging in camera. No luck. Image stabilization system apparently needs to be replaced. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
Sorry about not getting back sooner but Irma has kept me busy since I have a home just north of Naples, Fla. Will make sure I have Sony battery installed, card out and charge in camera.
Will keep you posted.
Called CRISCAM in Arizona. They directed me to Sony.
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I think my camera in the "expensive throw away" category based on number of shops who do not do repair. Oh well, I will keep looking g.
Thank you. Just emailed Phototech request for estimate.
United doesn't repair this camera in-house. They send it out. Probably because it is a relatively inexpensive camera, almost a thro-away. Thanks for the suggestion.
When I got on Sony's website it directed me to the repair center in Connecticut and from what I understand it has pretty bad reviews. Still searching. There is Camcorder and Camera Repair Center at 1947 West Glendale Blvd in Glendale California. Don't know anything about them. Thanks for your suggestions.
They send to repair center in Connecticut which has bad reviews.
My Sony DSC HX400V has E:62.10 error and I have been attempting to find a reputable repair service. I would like to know if anyone has used Camcorder and Camera Repair Center located at 1947 West Glendale Blvd, Glendale, CA 91201.
I live in the Cleveland Ohio area and no one repairs this camera. They all send it out to a third party.
I posted a similar question a few weeks ago under a different topic. Sorry if I am repeating myself.
Thanks in advance.
Tried pro-cam in parma ohio. They referred me to Sony Support. Back to square one.
Great suggestion since I can drive there in about 20 minutes. They are closed this week. I will call Monday and update outcome.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Dodds camera in Cleveland just sends camera to a third party. Will post results of whichever camera repair service I select.
This appears to be a very common problem (defect?) With the Sony DSC HX... line of cameras. If I replace it will not be a Sony.
Thanks MrBossHK. I will contact them.
Yes. They had a couple of "fixes", such as turn camera off, remove battery and turn back on again. Did not work. Their solution was camera repair service. My challenge is finding a reliable one. I live in just south of Cleveland, Ohio and there does not seem to be one in this area. Camera cost $500 and if repair is going to be over $200 I will just scrap it and buy a new camera but not Sony.
Thanks for your reply
I have a Sony dsc hx400v which is giving error message E:62.10. Looking for reliable repair center. Read reviews for Precision Camera and they varied a lot. Thanks in advance.
