I certainly would prefer him ringing my doorbell than the current - wh**ever that is, office holder.
#2 & #6 are your only best choices. In any competition that I'm aware of - the photographer's name on front of
image/print is disallowed.
#1 is a wall hanger & good competition subject.
From the standpoint of a competition judge - 1-3 & 7, with cropping, have good competition value & even 3 different
for #7.
I agree with Jaymatt - the foreground stump & background take away from the main center of interest & as
presented - it's not of competition value.
Just checked the counties site & it closes Aug. 2nd. Also surprised to see separate sections for both B&W & color
prints AND digital B&W & color.
Visual impact would be improved if the centered subject against this large cluttered background was cropped to fill the frame.
As mentioned, the 4 selected pics - with 3 revised, plus deletion of personal ID on front of prints, for better presentation, are the best chance of an acceptance. What county do you live in?
First of all - in any competition/contest, you cannot place your name on front of entry - backside only.
My choice of entries for best chance of winning awards require suggested crops for improved presentation.
L6 - plus sharpening & contrast. L14 - the same.
M3 & M6 should be sure winners, with a vertical format chosen for M3 to reduce heavy left side. M6 is O.K.
Let us know how you did following the judging. Is there a camera club in your area?
From an exhibitor's & judges point of view, the last two are the best of the group - but both need cropping for
best presentation. #7 would also be a good horizontal (cropped) selection.
As suggested - cropping & brightening is necessary for improved presentation covering competition, publication
and its sale-of.
Since the subject is too centeresd, croppimg is necessary for best presentation.
#1 - though it's too tightly cropped & you need more space at the bottom.
For improved competition value, would have reduced negative space
Kiitos - I'm wearing my St. Uhro's Day pin right now.
