I have been involved in almost every aspect of photography for most of my 79 years. BY FAR, this is the most difficult photographic endeavour that I have encountered. I have much to learn. Interesting, fun, and fulfilling, I give thanks to "Sippy" who aroused my curosity.

Good choice of subject matter, SoHillGuy. Personally, I have never had a lot of luck doing anaglyphs which contain a fair amount of red. I usually display those images in B&W. But then I risk the possibility of losing the interest of the viewer. There are other ways to do this, but there is no real good answer. Thanks for sharing this, SoHill. ...Ray

GREAT job, as usual, Sipppy! Surprising sharp detail. Can you describe the 10x objective more fully? Infinity or finite? Biological or Metallogical or other? Step size of the rail? Tube lens? I know that I am becoming a pain, but I am really driven to learn more. You are REALLY good at this.

I have ordered the positioning table that you referred to. I also ordered two heavy scissors motorcycle jacks for vertical positioning of the camera equipment and for the positioning table that holds the subject matter. see: https://www.amazon.com/Donext-Motorcycle-Center-Scissor-Cruiser/dp/B08DXKM9ZW/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=motorcycle%2Bjack&qid=1670177276&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&th=1
I already have a multitude of lenses for finite objective shots, enlarger lenses, extension tubes, Nikon pb4 bellows, reverse adaptors etc, but nothing for infinity objective. Would a zoom lens work for a tube lens? Do I really need an infinity objective? I will be using a Nikon D500 for the camera and will use a motorized camera "stepper" which is programmable down to one micron. Thanks for your help, Sippy. ...Can't wait to get started.

This is a great image of a frog, but I see no evidence whatever that it is a 3D image. What am I missing?

Wow !! Amazing, as usual !! Your specimins always look so very clean. What do you do to prepare your subject for a stacking session? I am thinking that it must involve a considerable amount of time. Do you preserve your subjects before it is time to photograph them? Your dedication to the details of this type of photography is admirable, to say the least. I look forward to all of your posts. ...Ray in Michigan

Sippy...
Thank you so much for your detailed response.
From your descriptions, it is apparent to me that VERY strict attention to the fine details is a must.
I really love this type of challenge, and I am ready to dive in to accept it.
Thank you for the image of your setup. It answers a lot of questions. While I already have some of the needed equipment, I have started to order more to get started.
Your images amaze me, and while I cannot hope to even come close to the quality demonstrated by your talents, I am going to begin to try.
There is one area that will be impossible to duplicate, and that is camera/subject stability. I will try to formulate a slightly different approach to overcome this deficiency. I will try to keep you informed of my progress, if you are interested.
I am looking forward to your next posting. It is my "fuel" and my motivation to succeed. ...Ray in Michigan

Sippy... I am so very fascinated by your work, and have many many questions. I am very grateful for your answers. I hope that I am not too much of a bother to you. I am also retired and have much time to spend on specialized forms of photography. My next question relates to illumination. Do you ever use flash? Or do you rely on your Ikea desk lamps? And why. How do you limit movement? ...Ray in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

...Another wonderful, mezmerizing, technically outstanding image. As usual, I am full of questions. In your experience, what is the difference between using a infinite objective and a finite objective lens? Image quality? or what?

AWESOME!!!! Simply awesome. Just VERY curious about your setup Is that a home made lens hood over the objective lens ? Also, what is the spherical objective on the right ? How many shots did you use for your stack?
You are sooo very good at this. I am trying to learn more.
