Yes, it was the only direct way to go from Reno to Sacramento and Truckee where the road to Tahoe was.

I remember driving that road in the 50's and it was hairy. You crawled behind the big rigs and they chased you down the other side.

I'm going for about three weeks to Zion, Bryce, Arches, Capitol Reef, Grand Canyon National Parks, flying from North Carolina. Should I lug my Nikon 200- 500 f56, or, be satisfied with my 18- 105, and 55- 200 kit lenses?

I would definitely take the long lens for getting up close and personal with a few of the areas you don't want to have to crop much. Great area for a visit

It has the built in 1.4 converter. You can also add another 1.4 or 2x to the lens mount for more reach. I have done this.

This lens is in excellent condition with service by Canon CPS to insure top condition. It comes with the original shipping/carrying case and includes a new unused drop in polarizer filter PL C52 and the Really Right Stuff plate. The lens was used on 2 trips only and just sat unused for a long time.
$6,500

I agree with all the suggestions having lived many many moons in the Reno area and Stead AFB. See the air races at Stead too north on 395 and go on up to see great country including the Red Rock area where I hunted until settlement spoiled it all. If you fish or hunt there are too many good places to put here. The skiing is great too. I learned on Mt Rose. I still visit friends there now and again and use Sparks as a water hole traveling east of CA.

I'm sorry but the lens sold. I edited my original post yesterday to show that.

Having a bit of computer issues. Do you still need more info on the 300 lens.

I love the lens but it is now too much for me to tote around with my age and health condition. I bought the new 100-400 and even it is heavy for me but more manageable and I don't need a tripod to use it. I also just don't want to travel with so much equipment.
I have only used the lens for 3 trips as it is.

I got a PM, but it didn't specify what lens you are interested in that I can see. What did you want to say?

I took pictures of the lenses but haven't figured out how to show them in the reply. I am not computer wise and it is frustrating to copy but not get the image to paste and no attachment method I see.
The lens is in great condition without dents, dings, scratches and so on. It has been kept in a good environment with the lens cap and mounting cover on. I haven't used it for a long time having bought the 16-35 when they came out. There is a protective sleeve that it came in also. the lens hood is included as well.

Hello
I'm not sure where and how to post pics for the lenses but will look into it. Otherwise the specs and pic is on the Canon USA website. Maybe I can copy and paste that.
