It’s a cheap counterfeit. And where is it coming from? I researched these filters with the help from a B+W rep awhile ago. It’s a counterfeit.

Look at this Ebay add. Must be a scam...Right, however, look at the sellers feedback rating.
I'm tempted, what do you think?

Been there, done that. It will be a cheap Chinese counterfeit filter. 😡

Square crop, rule of thirds, or something completely different?

How do you know which one to apply in any given situation? Any time-tested rules or just what looks best?

It’s an immediate visceral and heartfelt thing. My head, heart and soul immediately tells me how to compose the scene. It’s very seldom that I ponder it.

Yes, this is almost a must. Colors really pop printed on metal.
Any art show I go to almost all photos are printed on metal. My preference is glossy on white aluminum.

I think ZOOM LENSES were made for motion picture cameras in 1950 to 60's. To make such lenses, it was very difficult task without super computer then. But some type of shooting, it was good tool and necessity, as sport photographers or folks who did not have time to change lenses. Then, image quality was not there. But today, new optical glass, coating and computer design machine tools, it improved by 1000%. But we used to say, if you were good photographer, USE MANUAL ZOOMING with your arms and legs, don't be too lazy to look for great photo angle and perspective! Also, in general, prime lens has much superior image quality.
I think ZOOM LENSES were made for motion picture c... (show quote)

It was the original Vivitar Series 1, 70-210 lens that was designed by Ellis Betensky from NASA, with the aid of computers, that prompted Nikon, Canon, Pentax, etc, to design and build quality zooms. Before that time, zooms pretty much sucked. That original 70-210 was the first zoom to deliver quality images.

Looks like an LED retro bulb. Neat shot either way.

It is an LED retro bulb. I just liked the name. Do I rename it, Electric Ambiance?

I had a few friends that burned Seattle Filmworks film back in the day. I stuck with Kodachrome. It didn’t take too long for their negatives to quickly fade. Decades later, my Kodachrome slides look great.

Methinks you need to reassess. I count a three (3) letter difference in the latter word. 1 “h”, two “e”’s.

Unless “scheme” is somehow spelled “scham”, which is doubtful . . . .

Don't be causing any "schism" in the group. :-)

I like the original best of all. If you MUST replace the sky, then the first one is better. I frankly don't like sky replacements, because my mission is to record what WAS, not what I'd like it to have been. But that's just me, and obviously not you (or most of the people on the Hog).

I agree.

Hey Golf I was looking for a 70-200 to use primarly out doors in good light. After extensive research I settled on the Nikon 70-200f/4. I got a "like new" from MPB for $560. I can't tell it from new and I am very happy with it

Fantastic lens!
