Just asking, do Service Dog recipients have identification cards they can carry with them like a driver's license? I cannot imagine any institution these days not following ADA requirements. The Manager of this motel was ignorant of the law. My heart goes out to the young man for having to experience this after his service. Hooray for the police that knew where he would be accepted warmly.

I am new to this forum and would like to thank you for your comments! I have been reading many comments from members that make me question my participation. I am new to photography and have a simple camera and love to take pictures. I want to learn. However, some of the comments I have read sound as though there is a snobbery among some members. We all start at a level we can afford. I will never be a professional photographer (nor do I want to be). I really enjoy seeing the photos of other members and the fantastic work they are able to do. It is inspiring and helpful!

I will, also mention, that there are a lot of kind, generous folks on this site. I am learning to recognize names and, as with anything, you pick what you want to read. Thanks!

Thanks Linda. Odd, there is a canon sx50 and a canon 510 which must be new. The 510 is 30x zoom vs the 50. My problem is that I do not know enough about what I really want a camera to do so am totally confused. I want to buy one camera that will do it well, after looking think this can be done for under $500. I do like the zoom feature but question whether I really need 50. Oh well, part of the fun is in the hunt.

Thanks ebrunner. Actually, I would prefer not changing lens. I also want something more light weight and easy to handle. I guess a trip to a camera store might help. I try to research first to eliminate any sales pressure that might occur.

I love taking pictures. Don't know much about photography or cameras but want to learn. I am trying to decide on a camera which allows more than just point and shoot and easy to use. There is so much information that the more I read the more confused I am. I had thought about the Canon SX50sh or Coolpix P7000. Any thoughts on these two? Are there questions I can ask myself to help determine a new camera?
