Being RIGHT is something that you have a problem with..

You, sir, are delusional. To call you a fool would be a compliment.

Only an asshole would use a false equivalency argument to defend other assholes, like Cruz or McCarthy. Here's a link to your racist "brethren's" activities:

Only the saddest of fools would make McCarthy a hero.
McCarthy was a drunken asshole. End of story.
We haven't seen anything like Cruz
since McCarthy.

For the lack of a better word, "puzzled" will have to do.
I was looking in on the gorgeous fall colors posted in the new contest and I saw something I'd like to ask about.
It says there that the posters' names are NOT submitted at this time, BUT as I looked at the photos, I can clearly see the names on some of them. What's with that?...and if some can show their names on them, shouldn't everyone be able to do the same? Just wonderin'
Also, friends of the posters find it easy to guess who photos belong to when the poster tells in what town/state they were taken.
Probably doesn't matter a hill o' beans, but just makes one wonder if that's fair to the posters who follow the rules.
For the lack of a better word, "puzzled"... (

Excellent observations. If there were some way to eliminate any way to ID the person submitting, it would be a great way to assure fairness.
Just my $.02. :)

Yup. I bought a poor man's H-blad, the Bronica S2, then traded it straight across for a used Nikon Ftn.
LOL :) I traded an extra Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 for a Hasselblad rig. I had purchased that lens for the CT-302 case it came with.
I don't use it very often, but would never get rid of it. I even picked up a 45 degree electronic viewfinder and a dedicated strobe.
Ya gotta love that huge negative for large prints. I learned to love those prints, in High School, when I used a borrowed Yashica TLR.
I have my first Nikon, a black FTn w/ a 55mm f/1.2 lens. I paid $215 for it (new) in a tiny shop in Yokosuka, Japan, in 1968.
Thank goodness for Combat Pay. :)

See...I'm pretty sure all those red numbers under your post, Bill, are different lenses....as in plural, more than one lens........how do you decide which one you're gonna spend your day with?? That's worse than having a girlfriend in every port when they all decide their gonna come meet you in Jamaica!!!
Singing Swan, a girlfriend in every port? I love it! In reality it's more like a Nikkor toolbox that I've been filling since 1968.
My favorite (most used) lenses are:
#1) 85mm f/1.4
#2) 15mm f/3.5
#3) 35mm f/1.4
#4) 300mm f/2.8
The others are ready "if and when needed." Sadly, some have not been used in many years. :( I still love them.......

My B&H newsletter came today and introduced a new Nikon and a "new" 58mm f1.4 lens. I'm depressed because I'm not interested in the new offerings, and I'm actually satisfied with what I have. My 1959 version of the 58mm still works on my d5000, and all my other lenses work on my d7000. I realize there is no cure for NAS, but I feel sort of empty because I don't WANT anything else! Any suggestions?
I feel your pain......... buckwheat.
Actually, I feel no pain. I have nothing but old MF Nikkor lenses; the best of the best. I love B&H from my days of living on Long Island and working in NYC. But I only buy what I want from them, not what they want to sell me. They exist for my convenience; I do not exist for their convenience.
Enjoy what you have, which works for you. I laugh at those who HAVE to have THE LATEST AND GREATEST. I call them "suckers."

Have a Nikon 18-105 DX lens that I dropped and broke the mounting bracket on it (plastic of course) and need to get it repaired. I need some idea of the cost if anyone can give me an idea or do I buy a refurbished lens for $200? Best guess anyone?
When I lived on Long Island, I dropped my Manual Focus 85mm f/1.4. The Nikon folks repaired it and all has been well.
I don't know the economics surrounding your lens. If they can look at it and give you an estimate.... THAT might give you the answer you're seeking. I cannot think of anyone better to repair a Nikon lens.

Tokina 10-17mm but I dropped out when the bidding went past £250.
I had promised myself to get the add on which runs at about £17 but I saw the Tokina and thought that as my widest lens is 18mm, I could maybe sell that, buy the Tokina and my budget would not notice the difference - much.
Whatever you do, have fun with it. I have only been playing with cameras a little over 50 years and am learning every day.
No matter WHAT lens you get, you'll not know what it (and you) can do until you play with it. That, to me, is the object.
