For sale because my wife says it’s too heavy for her. Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 G2 (Model A025) telephoto lens for Nikon F Mount. This lens supports Z6/Z7 cameras and works well with my D850 and my Z6 with FTZ adapter for F mount.
Comes with original front lens cap, rear lens cap, lens hood, tripod collar, and packaging (box and lens bag) as in the photos.
Purchased new from Adorama on 11/19/2018 and only used a few times so it looks like new and works great! I mostly use my Tamron 24-70 f2.8 now. I have a couple of pics when I used the 70-200 lens here: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-591693-1.html
$800.00

Tamron # TC-X14 for Nikon F
Tamron 1.4x teleconverter for SP 150-600mm & 70-200mm USD G2 Nikon F Mount
Comes in the original packaging with front and rear caps as in the photos.
I purchased it from Adorama on 1/9/2019 and I think I only used it twice so it is like new.
$310.00

I will sell them individually or both for $1060.00

I have too much stuff and only want one teleconverter. I already have a Nikon 200-500 and 1.4x Nikon Teleconverter so I decided to sell my Tammy telephoto and 1.4x.

Teleconverter on the 70-200mm

We love to travel and our photography helps us see better. We always make photo wish lists in advance of our trips. Sometimes it works out and often the best pics surprise us. My wife and I now compete for whose pics we will print and put on our walls and our calendar for next year. We each put a few on Facebook. Photography as a hobby gives us a better experience planning, traveling and enjoying the pics afterwards.

looking for comments from people who have used the D810, D850 and/or Z6.

I love my D850 for traveling in my car because it’s a little big and heavy. I cannot imagine a better camera for wildlife and most everything else. The Z6 is a little smaller and lightweight so it’s my camera for air travel, lower light and video. I like that the menus in both are similar but there is still a learning curve. I have put my fingers on the lense a couple of times to take the lense cap off only to find I need to turn the camera on to see out the viewfinder!

considering moving to a smaller/lighter DX camera like a D5600.

I bought a D5600 for myself then gave this to my wife. She loved the small size, light weight and touch screen compared to her D5100. She always shot great pics with it and now upgraded her camera to a D7500, so her favorite camera (D5600) is now for sale in the UHH Classified. I use a D850 and there always seems to be competition between the two of us as to who takes the best pics. She often won with the D5600!

wondering how everyone locates photo spots on vacation.

I tried a couple of web sites but none are great.

Probably the best is to talk to a local photographer. It helps to talk in person. For that area Barry Spruce in Cades Cove Gallery in Townsend is great. He told us about the sunrises in Foothills Parkway and where to find yellow lady slippers. But of course we also hired him as a guide to photograph bear cubs in the Spring.
My favorite places there are anywhere in the Cades Cove Loop where you might photograph deer, horses, turkey and bear. I took some great pics in 3 days we spent on the loop about 10 days ago of bear and deer.
Sunrises are great on 441 out of Gatlinburg, the first turnoff on the right after the Clingman's Dome turnoff. If you get there 1 hour before sunrise you will probably find at least one tripod already setup and maybe 10 by sunrise. Another is the Foothills Parkway. Go NW on the main road out of Townsend and turn west on the parkway. The second turnoff on the left is good for sunrises. It is also a fun drive.
During the day try the loop road in Gatlinburg for small rivers cascading over rocks and beautiful scenery.
Enjoy!

My best solution is that I haven't lived in my cell phones area code for many years and most robo calls come from that area code. If its an old friend their name shows up as the caller. If not, I press any cell phone button and the caller goes to voice mail. No message then its a robo call.

AT&T and Verizon and have free apps that do help. I use the AT&T app and 2 other free apps (dont know the names) so now I answer very few robo calls.

I almost forgot. I added a 3 tone sequence to my voice mail that tells some automated systems that your number is not in service. My hope is the caller will not call again. Here is a link that explains but I only added the initial 3 tone sequence and then added my own voice to leave a message for my friends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BVbyCZXc5s

We went to a Polo Match this year supporting a local charity and had fun with my D850 and 70-200.

Just to follow up, I took the pictures in Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. About 8 other photographers showed up and the rangers kept us about 50 yards from the bears(maybe 30?). There was not much room to setup my tripod because of all the trees and other tripods in the way. After reading the replies, this is the dot sight I purchased to use as my training wheels until I get more practice! Many others do not come with a hot shoe mount.

Many good ideas here. I will be reviewing my options for my next excursion in the woods with my 200-500. Many like the red dot sight so I am seriously looking at. Thanks so much for your ideas!!
