Once you go Mac, you'll never go back...
Windows is about to evolve to a different form, from what I've heard, perhaps as the much loved subscription based scheme.

After upgrading, 99% of software works fine, there was some issues with older software that only worked after they themselves were updated. A cleanup release is due at the end of this month to address any recently found issues with Sierra.

I really!! hope he does step down, they can then replace him with Pence, which should greatly increase the chances of a loss for Hillary. Now before the women-h**er statements start, let me say that I have absolutely nothing against a woman (Dem. or Rep.) for president. Just as long as it's not IMHO that self serving, un-trust-worthy woman. ...
enough said.

While it's clear that B&H will make good on it's customer service (as they always do), I think perhaps they should re-evaluate their product descriptions to insure all ambiguity is removed and the customer is made crystal clear on their purchases. This of course, would include any used abbreviations or acronyms.

Takes 30 seconds to fix as was described by TreePusher, just be aware that at least on my Mac, I had to do a restart for it to recognize the changes.

A rubber lens hood pressed right up on the glass is great for removing the glass reflections.

You seem to have enough RAM, more is better but the best advise for really noticeable improvement... install a SSD. A mechanical HD can't come close to a SSD as far as throughput.

This will definitely serve in the long run to increase Apple's market share... Brilliant marketing scheme on the part of MS, they will be left standing around scratching their heads and remembering when MS was #1.

It had upgraded from 8-1.
Why is Microsoft so desperate to have everyone on W10?
Anyone?

I'm not sure what the full reasons are, but I think the impetus to change everyone over to W10 is under the guise of a security gain, perhaps by the unified killing off of IE and with changes to the structure of the basic codebase. There are as a result visible gains in speed and overall performance due to the restructuring of the OS. As far as the paranoia inducing aspects of the changes, I'll leave those to the people who believe their lives are so important that Microsoft - or anyone - would care to actively monitor them. As for myself, while I do run Windows 10 on a rare occasion, my main system is a Mac, not because of any deep rooted paranoia, but just a need to have a computer thats reliable day after day.

Sounds like a lot of mistrust and misunderstanding could be avoided with a little more communication by Rick. Most reasonable people will understand the wait time when they are told on a regular basis that they haven't been forgotten about or have items lost in the system. With all I've read here about Rick and time, I've never heard anything about his work being second rate. Seems like the wait is worth while, just seems he is lacking in keeping the customer informed when he has issues with parts procurement etc. Just MHO.

Is anyone using Phase One and do you like it versus Photoshop or is this an entirely different software?

Lightroom used most of the time, but PhaseOne 9 used with portraits - just seems better at that. All the usual raw formats supported with the exception of dng. Web site has training videos and there is a book just recently released on amazon, "Capture One Pro 9: Mastering Raw Development, Image Processing, and Asset Management" Free 30day trial and there is a document for converting photos over from Lightroom.

Dngallagher, thanks for the suggestion but I still could not get it to run. Had a screen that opened and said that NIK was loading into LR & Aperture but I cannot find NIK in either program. My option was NOT checked, thinking of trying to check it and see what happens. Maybe it is an El Capitan thing.

Bill

Bill, worked fine for me and I'm on El Capitan, but I did have to rerun the install after unchecking the option. I know you said it was already unchecked. Be sure to right-click on the photo then select "edit in".
