The '54 had a 6? I thought it had at least a 283 V-8. The current model has 700+ HP and can top out at 200+ MPH.

The '54 was a beaut though.

It didn't get a V8 until the 55 model year. Nice shot, though.

Nice shots, but I think this one is actually a Model A.

I have had pretty good luck in the past by taking a raw image and saving it as tiffs, going 5 stops in each direction at 1-stop intervals. It's not quite the same as doing bracketed shots with a tripod, but sometimes a tripod isn't an option. YMMV. Hope this helps.

If it's on the mirror, it won't show up in the pictures. The mirror is there so that you can see from the viewfinder through the lens. When you take a picture, the mirror flips up out of the way. If you decide you want to get it repaired, you might want to check Google and see who does that sort of work.

Yeah, the prices are pretty crazy. Guess that's free enterprise at work. I think it's going to be about 80% where I am, and it will certainly be a lot cheaper... ;-)

I wonder how well attended this meeting was back in February when it occurred.

Do you know how to buy from them

I'm not sure what you're talking about. They do have higher membership levels that are not free, but they don't really "sell" anything. They used to have what the called the Photo Pro Shop that sold accessories and tripods, but it's been gone a while.

They've been around since 2000. They operate out of Germany and the U.S. Here's a link to some info about their history: https://www.nikonians.org/about/nikonians-genesis

The first digital camera I ever used wasn't actually mine. It was an Apple QuickTake 100 and I was using it as part of a research study I was involved in back in 1995. The first one I owned was an Apple QuickTake 200, followed by a Kodak DC-280, Nikon D100, Nikon D200, and Nikon D800e. We've come a long way.

What you're describing is software for creating what's known as High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos. I don't have the On1, so I don't know about that, but I do know that Photoshop and Lightroom both can do it. It's very popular because it can enable you to have good detail in the dark areas without blowing out the highlights. If you're so inclined, it can be used to create some rather garish effects. Hope this answers your question.

After I fix a photo in LR, how do I save it,and send to get it printed? I don't have a printer. Thanks Jim Bianco

What you need to do is export the photo from Lightroom, probably to JPEG so you can send it to whoever is printing it. Here's a link to a short video from Adobe that explains it: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/the-complete-picture-with-julieanne-kost/exporting-images-from-lightroom-4/
Hope this helps!

The ship looks like what is known as a Ro-Ro ship, for roll on, roll off. They're used to transport cars. If you're driving a vehicle that wasn't built here, this is likely how it arrived.

Nice shots! I had the opportunity to cruise there in 2009 and I really enjoyed it. Here's one that I took that day. The beauty of the place was just amazing to me. It's also interesting to contrast how conditions can affect your photos. It looks like it was overcast the day you took yours, while the day we were there it was sunshine and blue skies, though you can't see it in my shot. I especially like how yours bring out more of the blue color of the ice in the glacier. Nice work!

When I got my D800e last year, i had the same quandary. I ended up getting a 32GB Hoodman Steel and it works well. I have since got a Sandisk 64GB and it's now my primary card. I've had no problems with either of them. If it's like the D800, it also can use SD cards and I have a 16GB card in my camera that I use exclusively for video. Hope this helps.

Great shots! And by way of explanation, the reason Spike Lee was there is that during the TV broadcast they were airing a commercial featuring Mo'ne' that was produced by him. She also threw out the first pitch at last night's game.
