I am thoroughly confused by the numerous suggestions that a circ polarizer will solve the OP’s question. A circ polo is often an indispensable part of my landscape kit, but not for balancing the bright/dark areas of a composition.

I’ll add that graduated nd filters used to be an often used tool in my landscape arsenal, despite the difficulty with the straight line graduation when shooting scenes where the delineation between bright/dark is not straight. But with the evolution of digital imaging and post processing, I never carry the nd grads with me. All of the negatives about those filters (straight line, expense, static electricity making keeping them clean a pain, fragility, etc) are solved by really quite simple post processing procedures. Easy peasy - better results with none of the fussing.

I used to take great pride (especially in the days of film) in my ability to balance differing bright/ dark scenes. Today, a newb can watch a 20 minute You Tube video and produce a better result in PS than I could ever achieve using my resin grads.

With judicious choices in camera settings, a circular polarizer can often help featureless skies.

I think a circular polarizer would better suit you. They would deepen the color of the sky and remove glare from bright sun on leaves, water, rocks, etc. They are really helpful with the kind of scenery where you live. I use one almost all the time. B+W, Hoya, and others. Don't get a cheap one.

I bought a camera advertised to be in excellent condition from KEH. It wasn't in working order when I received it. KLH agreed to repair it. When they received it, however, they said I had caused the problem by letting dirt get in the camera. They are sending the camera back to me unrepaired.

It was my word against theirs and they refused to believe me, or offer any kind of compromise.

If it wasn't in working order when you got it, why didn't you contact KEH immediately and return it?

They're settling and evaporation ponds for a potash mine.

Nice waterfall work …, I used to own a D800E and only replaced it with a D810 and then a D850 .., the D800E is capable of even more .., I miss that camera sometimes …

Thank you. I won't replace the camera until it dies. I've had it a long time. I know it and it knows me.
