I bought a camera advertised to be in excellent condition from KEH. It wasn't in working order when I received it. KLH agreed to repair it. When they received it, however, they said I had caused the problem by letting dirt get in the camera. They are sending the camera back to me unrepaired.
It was my word against theirs and they refused to believe me, or offer any kind of compromise.

Regarding the issue, how long was the time period? That is, did you find the problem within the no-questions 2-week return period? If not, what time period was involved? They may too have their own pictures of the equipment while in their storage that might support their assessment of the condition. At this point, your post is only partial for the relevant details of your side of the transaction.
I'm confused. KED? KEH? KLH?

So which is it, that it wasn't in working order when you received it or as previously posted on the 30th Oct that it developed problems soon after you received it?

KEH It didn't ever work properly. Then it stopped working altogether in about 2 weeks.

What "didn't ever work properly"?
You should only buy bargain rated camera from KEH.
Oops.......... perhaps I should have asked which function of the camera .............
I think people are asking you to be more specific on when you received the camera...exact date. The condition when you received it...for example you say it was not working properly? What does that mean? Then, when did it stop working (exact date). What does not working mean? The shutter button does not work, the screen is black, the menu system has a glitch? Why did you not send it back when you received a defective camera in the first place?
What is the so called dirty condition alleged by KEH? Post a photo of your camera perhaps?
As it is, there is minimal info provided so any attempts to diagnose the problem will be just guesses.
Sorry that -- right or wrong -- you weren't happy with your experience buying from KEH, but that doesn't change the fact that the overwhelming majority of users here report the opposite.
This is the first time I hear something against KEH. With all respect to KEH, when I have been in need of buying something used I have bought it from MPB or here and I have never been disappointed.
I do not know when it was exactly that you sent the camera back to them but I find unusual for a reputable dealer like KEH to state that a camera is in excellent condition and the camera is defective. That indeed is most unusual.
I do not know the outcome of your issues with KEH but I sincerely hope it will have a satisfactory solution for you.

KED? KEH? KLH? Do you know who you bought the camera from, and did you return it to the right place?
