I just got a new laptop and it has win. 8.1. UGH in many ways but I cant download zoom browser which comes with my canon rebel to upload and edit my photos. It says on their web site I dont need zoom browser for 8.1. But when I insert my card it wont let me pick and choose which photo I want to upload. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I am going to unplug it for all night. It did this once before and I am not sure what finally got it up and going but it did. So, I pray it works. I need my Photoshop! Thanks for the suggestion. GB

Thanks UP. This is the only monitor I have for my desk top. I use it to watch a move as well. But even the dvd (not on the computer) wont show up using the input. It all just kind of stopped. Last time it worked was using the dvd watching a move. Next time I went to watch a dvd movie this is what happened and now it wont work for my desktop either. I tried changing it to all the channels but still nothing.

Sheri, go into the setup in your computer, sounds like a setting has changed. I am using a 56 HDTV for my monitor
as well as a 24" on my desk, both by HG. Occasionally I have to reset both of them in the computer. Last problem I experienced was that on the 56" all I was getting was my desktop it wasn't picking up anything else. After resetting everything was back to normal.
Hope this suggestion has been of help to you.

Hi guys,

I have a Polaroid flat screen monitor & tv screen combo. usually I can turn it on and then hit "input" and it gives me options as tv, video, computer.

Right now I turn it on and it shows up in a few seconds the Polaroid with a black screen and then that's it. It is not responding to the input at all.

Any ideas on what to get it going. I use the monitor for dvd's and for my desk-top.

Thanks ahead of time.
Sheri

It is true in what you say. My Dad was a photographer in the Air Force in WW2 & Korea. When he passed I got a ton of his things and I was amazed at his creativity. He had made so many things to get certain results. Filters with holders etc. and now we just go to PS or even Picassa go get the same results and even better in many cases. And to think of how long it took. His books on photography, the course in NY he took etc. He did get a digital at the end and he really liked it a lot. But not soon enough to have fun with software.
I guess it just comes down to the love of capturing what we like and sharing it with others and being creative with software if we like. For me it is all for me then if others like it that's a thrill too.

Thanks so much everyone for the ideas. I am a tad overwhelmed with the whole idea so I have just put it on hold and gave up trying to remember it. I admit I have not tried any of the suggestions. Seems......but I am getting to the point that I need the laptop so I will search through and find the easiest solution and go from there. Yes, I will have both the same and did actually but then on my way out for vacation I decided to change the one left at home and forgot it. The clue has been clueless so far. But I still have great hopes it will come to my memory or I will use one of the ideas here and get back on my beloved laptop. Again, thanks so muchl

Hey Marco, is there a box to check that says "All of the above"?

Great link. I'll definitely save it. I still think calling North Korea would be faster.

I am still thinking I will get it sooner or later. Hopefully sooner as I have stuff I really want. My hint word is "out" ok, so I was happy to get out for a 3 week vacation and I wanted people to stay out of my house while gone. Tried a ton but to no avail. But I will get it I just feel I will. Again, thanks for all the help. I may try some if I dont get it soon. Feeling pretty dumb right now.

Thanks, will give it a try. I still think that remembering it will come one of these days and that might be my only hope. But I am trying what you and others suggested just in case. Appreciate you all. Windows 7.
