I would agree SX50 or something comparable. Cant beat the 1200mm zoom and all the camera features for being compact and the price. A small tripod helps to with a remote switch.

Hi Ed. Thank you. I took the pictures the middle of the afternoon. There is a little stream/marsh area behind my home with lots of frogs. Get near it and all hear is them jumping in the water.
