Nope, there was one produced in the 40's. I saw it in 1947.

You can buy the cases from Amazon or other computer parts store. I have one for many years.

I've looked into those PLBs and decided they wern't for me. So I bought a clasp phone from TracFone for a low price, and keep it in my pocket. Now if I fall, I can hit 911 and tell them about me whether I'm in the house or out in the boonies.

As with many other things in life including photography we all, if we are responsible, operate within the paramenters of responsibility. You wrote "It may be worth it" For Scrupes, his dog is worth it to him. I am sure that he is aware of the costs but the benefits his dog brings to him and his family outweight these costs. If you feel that the benefits of having a dog is not worth the costs, then whatever dog that you own or consider owning would probably be better off if it lived somewhere else. And if you think a dog is expensive, have you looked at what it costs to raise a kid these days?

As far as I'm concerned, my two dogs are family to me, and if one should die, I would morn the loss just like it was my own child. Who cares about the cost? It is the love and companionship that I receive from them.

Yes, we have adopted two dogs. I find that they are more fun than the thoroughbreds we had.

Your stuff would look a whole lot better in color.

As you have seen the general consensus here is to keep using the camera till it fails. You could replace the shutter when that happens, most probably around $300 but it would be better to invest in a good used one or a refurb.
If not broken don't fix it. Welcome to the forum.

I once had a camera with a low shutter count, and when I went to take an importation picture, it failed. I sent it in for repairs, and it was nearly a year before I saw my camera again.

With a shutter count of 176,550, can you imagine how much it would cost back in the film days to get this amount processed? That's almost 5000 roles.

Anything produced by ektachrome or any other color film can be easily reproduced in Photoshop or something similar.

I get hacked once in a while. The latest, the bank removed the charge and issued a new card. I suspect it was one of the clerks who checked me out.

All of them done with Photoshop or similar. Probably for advertising or just for the heck of it. I've done pictures like these.

In actuality, $30 to see a movie, kids or adults is reasonable anymore. Driving to the theater, buying tickets, and getting snacks for a family of four can cost upwards of $50, often more. Staying home, watching in your jammies, home made snacks, not driving to a cinema and avoiding the crowds (and the coronavirus) is to me worth saving the extra. And it is more comfortable.

I no longer go to the theater. I watch on Netflix. About a movie a night.

Why don't you move back so that we can enjoy the whole insect instead of just the head.

It would be nice to use a key light from the background to highlight the hair.
