Thanks Terry, I think! That was quite a bit to swallow but I'll have to try it out. I have photos from my grandson's football game to work on from this past week end. I will back them up first though before I go into LR.
Thanks all for the tips on using LR3 as I was ready to pack it in with this product, it was too frustrating too use. The concept of pulling in 100 photos and them not being in order was too much. I'm used to inputting 1 photo at a time saving it and then go on to the next one to work on.
I will now use your tips and try it again, thanks.
Gene
I downloaded the trial version of Lightroom 3 and have been using it for about a week now. I'm ready to give up on it any day now. The cataloging feature is making me crazy with the film strip on the bottom. The pics don't seem to be in the order I took them, some pictures don't show up in the film strip. If I make a change to one photo is it being saved if I go to another photo to work on. Very confusing product to me. Any suggestions, am I doing something wrong.
That's a cool picture Hayuya I'm going to try that myself.
Went out today and updated my graphics video card. I got the GeForce 8400 GS model plugged it in installed the drivers and bam, "perfect Layers" worked.
Thanks all for the suggestions.
Thanks for your input, I'll go to a computer store tomorrow and see about getting a OpenGL compatible video card.
Just started using Lightroom3 and noticed that their is a plugin from onOne Software called Perfect Layers 2. You can use it as a standalone or use it within Lightroom. I downloaded the trial version to try it out and it installed ok. When I went to exec it I got this error message. See attached picture. I lookeed all over but couldn't find a solution to the driver problem.
Can anyone out there tell me what to do.
Thanks for any help. Gene
Thanks for the info on the su-800. I didn't know about this product from Nikon and I'm already read the reviews on Amazon about it. Some said though that they only got about 12 ft distance out of there's and it had to be direct line of sight. I do real estate photography and need to setup lights at the end of rooms. I will definetly check it out and consider it.
Thanks
Thanks I'll check out those flashes and great flower pictures.
Sometimes I forget to turn off the vibration reduction (VR) on my Nikon lens when I shoot off my tripod. I remember reading somewhere that the VR switch should be turned off .
If someone can tell me why I'm suppose to do that and when I don't am I damaging my equipment somehow?
Nice picture I will try that when I get my flash off camera.
Thanks Jdcalabr I checked out those units on Amazon and I'm sure they will work but they are too pricey for me.
Thanks Dpullum I checked out the SYK Seagull on Amazon and I think I will try out those and forget the P Wizard.
I'm thinking about purchasing a flash trigger product like Pocket Wizard so that I can trigger my flash or flashes off camera. I've always just used my flash on camera.
My question is when using the triggering device is the camera still considering the flash as TTL. Does the camera calculate the flash output to help with the exposure as it would if the flash were on the camera. I have a Nikon D700 with Nikon flashes.
