In the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, I had an SLR but I never used it much as I was a 'Crap' photographer and then along came the DSLR and that's when I started to learn photography.

At a glance, I can tell whether my photos are good or not and make the necessary adjustments. If it was not for the DSLR, I most likely would still be a 'Crap' photographer who only took the occasional 'Crap' photo

No problems in my recent trips to Sydney and Melbourne. Had it strapped to the side of my Lowepro.

The only concern I would have was when I got to Gatwick, as I have to fly to Inverness with 'Flybe' and knowing some of these budget airlines there are restrictions.

I have just sent an email to 'Flybe' asking whether or not I'll be charged extra for the tripod and I await their reply

I'm going overseas and wish to take some 'Night Shots' so I would like to take my tripod. Has anyone travelled by plane and have taken a tripod without facing any problems?

I'm going to Bangkok for 3 days, the UK for 3 weeks and then Singapore for 3 days before travelling back to Sydney

I heard about it today and was shocked at the number that died and my heart goes out to their families.

I don’t know if it’s the same in America, but most of the Fire Fighters in Australia, are Volunteers and it’s these people who put their lives on the line to save, not only property, but people too. They’re a special breed of people that most of us take for granted, and it’s times like this that makes us really sit back and appreciate their selflessness

That's how I heard it in Australia, but instead of Obama, it was Julia Gillard our recently dethroned PM

No, not lost my sense of humour and I still have respect for those who are different from me, or should I say those I am different to?

I would never make a joke of someone’s affliction but someone’s Race isn’t an affliction.

We all make jokes about the Scots, English, Irish, Jews, Australians, New Zealanders etc and unless they’re very ‘Thin Skinned’ they all laugh along with the jibes because they know it’s only HUMOUR

Good Grief, you people are so busy picking out every little thing that you feel may be offending to others, it's a wonder you have time to live your own lives, or maybe you don't have any.
It was a joke and I thought it was funny. Give it a rest.

Since the beginning of time ALL Religions and Races have been made fun of for one thing or another but since the PC Brigade came to the fore, everything seems to be offensive.

In Australia, we call the English Pommy Bastards but the Australians love them and it is in fact a term of endearment, believe it or not

I heard a moto about age that I have always tried to apply
"Old age is ten years older than you are. Think back when you were a teenager any one over 3o was over the hill. I'm 72 and still think of my self as a young or middle aged man.
At 54 you are still young.

You're so right Newwbe

When I was a teenager, I did a lot of boxing and I was boxing in the NE of Scotland Championships in 1957 and my opponent was 27 years old and I remember to this day, saying "Gee, he's old" that's because I was only 17.

Oh, and by the way, I knocked him out in the first round
