I have been wanting to move to mirrorless. I need to be able to photograph animals in low light, so also considering getting Nikkor 70-200 2.8. I have been using Canon 7D Mark II for years, with L lenses, and to me, it has been OK but not great. But I have zero experience with Nikon of any sort. A bit concerned about weight, too, as that lens weighs quite a bit.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Especially those of you that actually own a Nikon Z8....

Go to lensprotogo.com or any other rental shop rent a z8 and a 70 to 200 for at least a week and try it out. I am a Nikon shooter from the70’s I hear canon has a better focus system. I have z6ii's right now, but most of my work is table top product photography, now days. When I travel I have an Olympus t6 how things have changed.

Matt getting paid to say that, I have no need to have photos in the cloud. Check the terms of service to make sure your photos are not feeding firefly and what other ridiculous so called AI crap they come out with. They ruined the spot healing brush in photoshop with the last update all it does now is leave a blurred spot, they want you to use the remove tool.

I have 32 GB cards AND 4 62 GB cards. When I did workshops both taking and leading I would use fresh 32 GB cards every day. So besides an external drive back up I had the original cards.

Hi, first don’t delete any folders with data on your old computer. Do you still have the folder where the 400 go of photos on the old computer? That should be the folder you point your imports too. Make copy of that folder best bet is copy it to an external drive. Once copied you can have your Lightroom catalog sync up with the external drive.usually your catalog will be found in the pictures folder it is a folder with the .lcat extension. Good luck. I always save copy of my edited photos on a separate drive outside the catalog so I always have a finished photo as a JPEG, TIFF OR PSD. that way I know where my good photos are.

The AI apparently doesn't entirely understand water dynamics. The right most waterfall doesn't look like it has a water source, it appears from nowhere! I realize "photo AI" isn't a perfect science yet.

when you look at 90% of these generated images they really are next to useless. the middle waterfall in this project has a line where it looks like a photo was poorly composited into it. I have seen office chairs with extra legs where the wheels don't touch the floor, Drink glasses where the rim does not match up around the top of the glass. chairs with one armrest. this will all go the way of NFTs. 2 years ago we all needed to buy crypto, last year we all needed to make NFTs and this year its so-called AI. as far as the image submitted I wouldn't want to copyright it under my name. Just my 2 cents

Just checking in to see if this group is still active. I have been on UHH for many years, but finding the time to post is hard. The attached photo is test shot, with a softbox overhead and a white card to the right.

I took a drive today north into the southern adirondack park and color is maybe 30% but seems to be very muted, I didn't even stop to shot anything it was so dull, when I looked at the prediction maps it looks like things are slower than usual. usually by now the lake placid area is at peak or a little past peak the map said its nearing peak.
