I have a novel thought

Lets focus on the laws and punishment of the criminals that use a gun during the commission of any crime. The current punishment is too soft.

Lets look at everyone's responsibility, citizens and government alike on reporting and dealing with the mentally disturbed. If you have knowledge of such a person and don't report it just because you don't want to get involved, or if a government agency is informed of such a person and does nothing. Who is is to blame? Speak up, you may save lives, act on such information and you may save lives.

I presently own no guns, I have in the past. I have no issue having to submit to a local or national background check. Why? Because I am not a CRIMINAL!!!

I totally and whole heartedly agree with you, bashing a whole group is not justified, unless the whole group was behind such a heinous act is responsible.

This was a cowardice act that impacted the lives of far to many. It was a truly sick mind(s) that carried this act out. If caught and convicted the sentence should be strap a pressure cooker rigged with a similar device to their "arse", secure their feet and hands, tape a trigger that once released detonates the device. Swift and immediate justice carried out by the loser them self.

I apologize if this is offensive to anyone, that was not my intent. It sickens me that innocent people have to suffer, this includes the direct victims and indirect victims, grand mothers/fathers, mothers/fathers, spouses, brothers, sisters, children, other relatives, and never to forget the aid the crowd provided, the first responders, the hospital staff, etc, etc etc. the impact is huge, the punishment should be huge.

Enough of my rant.

Peace to all and respect the life of others.

If I am understanding you, the SB600 is triggered by Nikon commander mode, and in turn the 560(s) would be triggered by the 600? No need for radio triggers? The SB600 would be ITTL and the 560(s) would be manual?

Or am I over thinking this?

Exactly...

Off to order a pair of 560's

Thanks

Okay, so I have searched for online reviews and seem to come up with conflicting stories, I have done a search here and came up empty.

The reviews I did find were very positive for the YN-468.

But the question is

Does the TTL feature work off camera?

What Nikon DSLR do you have? Most, not all, have the ability to do wireless TTL flash using the camera's built in flash as the trigger. I have an old Nikon DSLR and can trigger as many as two wireless flashes (600s) at the same time. However, I can not control the flash output with the camera. Some of the newer DSLRs can also do that.

I have a D90, it does have a commander mode for off camera flash, I I have 1 SB600 but was looking to add a couple more flashes and the YN-468 looked to fit the bill except for the original question in the post.

I am still open to suggestions. However, I am going to give manual a try either way.

If you just want manual "extra" flashes...then you can get away with YN 560s' at a much lower cost...and they will trigger when your SB-600 goes off...no need to buy extra triggers and such....

Thanks for the quick reply, any recommendations?

This whole setup will not be for heavy use, but will be for occasional use.

TTL triggers aren't cheap...there is Phottix Odin, Pixel Kings, and I "think" that some versions of Pocket Wizards do too..but not sure.

For myself, I don't use TTL with off camera flash...I just rough it.

If I want to use TTL I put the camera on the flash and bounce it off of a wall or something...ala Neil Van Neikerk.

Okay, point taken its time for me to learn how (get off my lazy) to manually set up and control flash.

Thanks for the nudge, I knew it would come sooner or later. After all, it's not like I have to process film anymore.

But still open to suggestions

I did but I'm slow on the trigger tonight. Aw hell, now the gun grabbers will get involved because I mentioned "trigger." Go drill a hole in the ice and practice your putting. :thumbup:

You didn't say

Trigger?

Oh no, I fear you may be right.

Surely you meant the horse and nothing to do with the g word

Why would 81 not work?
11x11=4 could be the result of (1x1)x(1x1)=4
22x22=16 could be the result of (2x2)x(2x2)=16

Conversely

33x33=??? Could be (3x3)x(3x3)=81

your error is that you stated : (1x1) x (1x1)= 4 when this actually only comes to a total of 1. In order to be congruent in your progression, you would need to state the series as:

(1+1) x (1+1) = 4
(2+2) x (2+2) = 16
(3+3) x (3+3) = 36

Alternatively, you can also add up all the single digits to make a progression where it looks like:

11 x 11 = 121, then add all single digits of the result (1+2+1)to come up with 4.
22 x 22 = 484, then add all single digits of the result (4+8+4) to come up with 16.
33 x 33 = 1089, then add all single digits of result (1+0+8+9) to come up with 18.

In order to be a congruent numerical sequence, you need to do the exact same function and set up for each number set in the series.

Now my son Chad might be hooked. His reply

Haha that's good but mine is more correct because I can show it with two methods!

1. The sum of the first two digits multiplied by the sum of the second two digits.
(1+1) x (1+1) = 4
(2+2) x (2+2) = 16
(3+3) x (3+3) = 36

2. The sum of all digits multiplied by the first digit.
1+1+1+1 = 4 x 1 = 4
2+2+2+2 = 8 x 2 = 16
3+3+3+3 = 12 x 3 = 36

This just may get him to join UHH

Okay so my son gives his answer which is the same as mine 36. Then sends this back to me.

2x1=2
2x12=12
2x123=36
2x1234=80
2x12345=???

To tired to late maybe my 2:30 hog mail will save my morning brain.

Yep UV definitely and for outdoors a CPL makes all the difference in the colors. The link below kinda shows what a CPL will do

Democrat or Republican?

I am far from being a supporter of Obama, I won't even go there right now since the sun is coming up and I have frosty day to go out and get some pics.

But in all seriousness, it's neither party in my mind. It's what has been allowed to digress over the last 5-6 decades at least, possibly longer. We need to clear out all career politicians, bring our government back to what it was meant to be. IMHO

I have said it before and I will say it again, People kill people ..not guns!!

Not to mention a gun requires at least one more component to become deadly. A bullet. Which in turn requires a brass casing, that requires a primer that requires gun powder and its still not deadly until you cap it all off with a slug.

Anything in the hands of the wrong person can become a deadly weapon. Including baseball bats, knives, interlocking bricks, empty Jack Daniels bottles.

Did I mention reading these threads are quite entertaining, nothing new is rarely shared but interesting nonetheless. So now it's time to figure out how to keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people, not the law abiding people, kinda like the war on drugs.
