After traveling to Zion and Bryce this past month I took many pictures. When shooting with the sun in my back my shots were pretty good except I notice that a cloudless sky was too dark blue and I had noise in the blue. My ISO was set very low so I don't think that was the problem, Is there a way in PS that I can adjust the blue and adjust the noise? Here is an example....

Uh, skies at 7,000 to 9,000 ft. are dark blue! Nothing like you'd ever see in FL. The one you show looks right for mid day. Can be much darker.

Code readers can be had for under 25 bucks and allow you to reset the light. It's good practice
to reset the codes and get rid of the light and see if the problem re-occurs. If it does then it's
pointing you in the direction of a true issue. But just because it says O2 sensor doesn't mean
that the sensor itself has to be replaced, the problem may be with the catalytic converter
or a bad fuel mixture. It's also common practice to disconnect the battery overnight
to reset the computer and have it relearn again and wipe out the codes. Very easy to
do and it's free.

My son has had two interesting ones that tripped O2 sensor code:

A 🐜 on it.

An oil change guy ripped the air filter seal.

Headed for Grand Canyon. I bought a Canyon 17mm- 40mm f/4L lens for the trip. Any feedback on this lens for that kind of landscape shooting.

PS: Did Trump type your message?

Note appropriate typo.

Hi do any one live in Colorado, reason while i am asking is because i am going there in September for holidays for the first time. And what the weather will be like that time of the year so i know what type of cloths to take with me.Because i do not know if the weather will be hot or cold in September out there because i live in the UK.Thanks for reading.Mark

Weather in September as good as it gets. Leave your rain stuff home.

Temperatures depend on the elevation you are at. Relatively low (under 1500 meters) can be hot (100 deg F) in the day. Relatively high (> 2000 m) can dip to freezing at night.

Perfect lens for landscapes.

Pack a tripod, remote release, and CP filter.

If you get away from the bus routes you might see deer, elk, condors and eagles so a long lens can be useful.

My comment was labeled as an aside, regarding rules and following them. And as far as "tilt" is concerned- in landscape photography there are times when the land "tilts" one way or the other, should a photographer fix that scene and level the "horizon" when in fact it's "tilted"? I have any number of images where the tree is dead plumb but the land is "tilted" so take your pick. I prefer the straight tree.

In my part of the world all the land tilts (aka Rocky Mountains). I make the trees vertical.

In Lightroom I usually just use the whites and blacks sliders while watching the histogram, keeping the indicators off.

Alternatively you can hold down the Alt key and adjust to get black and white where you want.

But that's after boosting shadows and dropping highlights 100%.

If the histogram is very skewed I might first adjust exposure to center it, but usually save exposure adjustment for graduated filter.

My first cruise. Just taking the Canon SX50 with me. Here's where we are going:

a day in each port -
Embark from San Juan on Carnival Fascination:
St. Thomas
Barbados
St Lucia
St Kitts
St Marrten
back to San Juan

most ports we will be taking a Carnival sponsored excursion but maybe not all ports (will stay on the ship otherwise) spending maybe 7 hrs in each port.
My question is can anyone who knows that camera recommend or not recommend a small tripod. I have done a hand held shot or two at max - 1200mm, but the subject was contrasty and it was bright sun. I barely got away with it. Last vacation in NOLA I checked and seemed to get along with up to maybe 200-300mm maximum with my pocket p&s
Have no idea what to expect in this cruise for photo ops as I have never done this before in the Caribbean
I prefer no tripod and certainly wont entertain a bigger one.
That Mephoto one might be too much for me to tolerate. Naturally I would want some sort of sling
i do have a "zip" tripod I think thats the name of it tamrac or some brand dont know where it is or remember how carryable it is. but i have 75 days to look for it (Oct 1)
Looking for comments from those who have been there done that if i really need a tripod and will use the extremes of the SX50 zoom
this isnt going to be a master photo excursion just want some nice shots

I know it is a pain but you might consider separate posts for each item or group you want to sell e.g. Camera with one lens.

The question is: do the inexpensive code readers allow you to reset the light? The engine light came on while driving my Escalade; I took the car to the local Firestone and was told that I needed new spark plugs, an ignition coil bank as well as crank position sensor. Estimated repairs: $2,000+. I decided to postpone the expense and paid to have the light reset. I have been driving the car for three years now and the light never came back on! I hear similar horror stories about engine diagnostics...

You can find procedures to reset the light online. Google for your specific car. Sometimes you need to unhook the battery for a bit.

Here is one for my diesel (it works on 2008 also):

Had the same problem on my 2010 Mazda, cost me £96 to have light put out but could not find problem,2days later light was on again, reset for free,4days later on again, garage done another check and found that the Eloys tank had a leak and was low on fluid.( Eloys is a fluid that mixes with Deisel to reduce emission ) had to have tank replaced at a cost of £500 ,the 4 litres of fluid cost £160 .but should last for about 60.000 miles,if it doesn't leak again.

Newer diesels in the US require the urea also. But it is much less expensive: $3/gallon I think. They have pumps for it at the truck stops. They call it DEF here.

What the heck kind of truck do you have? I had a 2001 Powerstroke and bought a high volume turbo for it with a wicked wheel already installed in it for $1600 in 2006. Paid a friend $100 to help me install it (he actually did all the work). The hard part was reaching it ... the truck had 9 inches of lift and 38's on it. $6000 is kinda real pricey.

You're telling me!

I did find a rebuilt for about $1,200 and the local dealer would have installed it for about $700. But still no need.

The worst case was a dealer in Las Vegas. The light first showed up in Death Valley so we went there.
