The pro 100 has black grey and light grey. Black and white turn out amazing! Color prints are amazing also. I love it!
I purchased a set of barely used flash point 1500 mono lights with 2stands and 2 reflective umbrellas along with a few extras over 5 years ago. They work great as slaves also. The only reason I’m in the market for new ones is the weight. I need a more portable kit. Not sure what’s comparable so on to research. I’ll continue to use them at home. Good luck in your journey.

I have been ask to bring my camera to some weddings and just take random shots after the wedding. Usually there a two hired photographers working the wedding. They take great pictures. I am very much an amateur and try to stay out of the way. Some times I take 300 pictures, not all keepers. After I go through the pictures and adjust some then I give the parents a stick so they can see pictures immediately. I would never and have never received a dime from a friend or family member. The pros really have great pictures and do a great job. However if you take pictures to make extra money, different story.

I do the same at various events for family and friends. But this was not the case they came prepared knowing the price of the prints. I just wanted to know what to charge those who just want digital that’s all. In addition our family(my siblings on down are almost 100 strong not including cousins and friends) No ones home will hold us.
If it were just a small print or two, free would be fine. First of all our family is very large. Here’s an example of one relatives shoot. Mother alone, mother with each child(4), mother with 1 child and niece, mother with sister, mother with children, children alone, mother with sister and their mother and children with cousins. This was the the extreme but several family members took several variations. This was not a problem that’s why I set up, for family picture. They came knowing there was a charge for prints. That’s why I posed the question. Most just want prints but some just want digital. No concern about copyright or commercial use. I’ve messaged copies to family before that they have posted on social media and they always state photos by me. I just think it wouldn’t be fair for some to pay and others not.

If these pictures are for family then why not put the photos on a disc and give them to family members? Sorry but from reading your post these people are family. IF you were in a studio and IF you were/are a professional photographer who does this type of photography for money, then I could see charging them your standard fee. But if these are just photos you took at your family get together then I don't understand why the charge. Perhaps I am missing something here.

I set up my backdrop, lights and camera in my suite where we all stayed and I extended the offer in advance. They came color coordinated ready for family Christmas pictures. I’m not trying to sell the pictures I took during our dinner and fellowship time just the pics they sat for. I do small jobs like setting up at events and sell prints on site, head shots and family pictures. I have a small studio in my home. I do this very part time.
I took pictures at our family thanksgiving for those wanting family or individual Christmas pictures. (They turned out great). I didn’t charge a sitting fee just the price of any prints they order. Some have asked to purchase digital copies. I’ve never sold digital files before so not sure what to charge. What is the going rate?
I was in need of some inspiration and these did the trick!
Well said! Love the picture
I’m not sure how to evenly light a small group and still make the photo interesting. In this picture it looks like there is Rembrandt lighting on all the subjects, and it’s hot on the left. I had a mono light on the left set at 1/8 power shooting into a reflector black/white umbrella a speed light on the right with a shoot through umbrella set at 1/2.
As I’m typing this I’m thinking would it have lite evenly if I had used a 42 inch reflector instead of the mono light on the left? Or maybe had the mono light high angled down behind the camera? Looking forward to you alls advice.
I’m starting to print a lot more at home as I’ve found the color with my pro 100 printer far superior to those I’ve had printed elsewhere. On the flip side the cost of the canon ink is extremly high. I’ve read that some after market inks can cause clogging. Is there a compatible ink that doesn’t cause clogging and gives the rich color I’ve come accustome to with the canon ink?

MY thought being that with the two types of files she is editing the raw but not saving a new jpg. When she saves the raw file she has to do a separate operation to save a new jpg. She says she does editing and then when she sends the jpg the editing is not there. Because if you think of it as a raw/jpg you think the changes are made to a file that is both raw and jpg and that's not correct.
I understand they are edited separately I only edited the raw file converted to tiff and tried to open in photos.
