Thanks for the info. I thought maybe you were a fellow 1200 man; mine's a Sony HX300. It makes really nice images (I make 12x18 and even 16x24 prints from them which are not as sharp and colorful as those from my Canon T4i, but are acceptable from normal viewing distance. And it's hand holdable. At 81, I am vastly relieved by the difference in burden.
Thanks again!

Sure did, but I still have an itch to know your camera/lens combo. On the face of it, the quality of your images shouts 'Full size sensor and mucho bux long lens' but there's this sneaky suspicion that you did it all with a 1200 Sony or Canon bridge camera. C'mon, fess up!

Very nice shots! So nice, in fact, that I can't help getting pushy and ask you to name them. I will certainly understand if that's too much trouble, but thank you a whole lot if it isn't.

I can't accurately judge the ultimate quality of your wife, but that she bought you the camera is a good sign. I have one of 'em, and I think it's terrific. I tout it to anyone who doesn't want to spend DSLR money (or, as you, needs something smaller) as an incredibly good picture taker. I'm about to use it a bunch as I am one of several people who are covering our Village's 'Spring Olympics'. The 1200 mm lens is wonderful for CUs of straining old faces. (Our average age is 81, as am I.)

I also use the 9000 Mk2, and have never in 3 years had the slightest hiccup -- and I use any old brand of compatible ink. But based on multiple and frequent experiences with Epson medium format machines, I'd say get a large bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol (most drugstores have it, or Amazon) and clean EVERYthing you can get at with a small soft brush, Q-Tip, or lintless rag. For the ink wells, put in at most a couple of drops of the alcohol and let it sit for a while. Use Q-Tips to clean around down there and sop up the alcohol completely. You may have to repeat that operation. Whoever said "Really clean the bar the cartridge tray runs on" had it very right, but also put a little sewing machine oil on a cotton pad and run it all along. None of this is the least bit difficult physically (except for shoving the printer around) or mentally. So good luck! You have a first class machine, and I'll bet it comes back around to fine shape.

I have the price list corrected (sorta; I scratched stuff out but it's pretty close to accurate.) The stuff is out in the garage in the rafters, and before any money changes hands I'll do an A1 inventory.

OOOPS! I need your email address so I can send it.

DF, I'm just now getting to this mail. I got several replies -- yours about in the middle, chronologically -- and am dredging up the list of stuff to send you all. I am hoping to sell all the accessories and parts as well as the camera, and he who offers to do that automatically becomes my fave. I promise, tho, that I won't do anything final until all of you know what the top offer is, and have a chance to beat it. I don't think big bux are involved here, but you never know. I did sell 2 cameras and 5 lenses plus some pricey roll film backs for my asking price. I'll try to send the price list tomorrow.

Thanks for your interest ... Dick McCartney 949.206.1799

There is, and it makes a fabulous 6x7 camera. It should, for 35000 buckaroos. (Digital back for Mamiya 6x7 fits it.)
