I print with a Canon Pro9000 MKII. I printed a batch of photos last Fri. and everything was fine. Today I tried to print and everything was not fine. I'm getting lines in my prints. I've run the cleaning cycle on the print head but it made no difference. If anybody has had this problem and knows the cure, I'd really appreciate knowing how you fixed it.

It looks more like a roller problem instead of an ink problem.

Did you run the deep cleaning cycle and check the nozzle print pattern? The heavy use on Friday may have contributed to the nozzles to clogging, its not a bad idea to clean them after heavy use.

Also - are you printing from the same program as last week?

If it is a roller problem, do you have any ideas on how you would you fix it?

it don look like a roller prob to me, it looks more like a resolution mismatch causing the printer to interpolate. are you using a multiple of the native printer resolution? for the Cannon try printing at 300dpi

to ck if it is rollers print as a vertical

Bob, I did the cleaning cycle and checked the nozzle print pattern, it was good, and I printed from the same program as before.

OK - Note: In Nozzle Check Pattern printing after print head deep cleaning, if missing lines in the pattern are not improved, the ink tanks may be defective. (canon website)

Looking at the pattern it seems as if all the nozzles are not firing or they are being starved for ink. Upload the test pattern results.

Thanks Anna. I am using the correct paper profile. I'll check and see if Canon has an adjustment for head alignment.

Here's the nozzle check pattern. Everything looks good.

When I download and take it to 400% there is a slight striation in the PM block and the top of the M block seems to start off color.

I don't know what to tell you since you have done the deep clean and alignment (using the software control panel?) From what little research I have done, it looks like you are backed into swapping or replacing pieces until it is fixed. Hit the Canon KB for the printer to see if there are any other hints (&Google). Unfortunately it is in Canons best interest to sell you new parts vs finding a low/no cost fix. Good Luck... I'll check in the morning to see if you have had any success.

No, I've never had to clean mine. If you have the software that came with the printer, it has an extensive trouble-shooting guide. If you can't fix the problem after going through the trouble-shooting guide, I would suggest contacting Red River Paper because they have knowledge of almost all the major printer mfgs. E-mail them along with the sample picture. customerservice@redriverpaper.com.

Thanks wilikioti. If I can't get this problem figured out I'll contact Red River and see if they can help.
