I bought the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO OS HSM for Nikon. Half the price of the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VRII. I tested the Nikon & Sigma versions and could not tell the difference. Went with the most economical option.

I have the LowePro Flipside 500 AW. A little big for under the seat on the plane. The 400 would fit better.

Will be shooting everything. This trip will be similar to my last year's trip to San Diego to Legoland, Padre's stadium, Zoo & Safari park. Last year I took 4 lenses but only used the 18-300 f3.5-5.6 and a 11-16 f2.8. But I did not have the 17-55 f2.8. The photography will mostly capturing the family and the scenery.

I am going to Anaheim with the family for a week and want to travel light. We are going to Disneyland (3 days), Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, Aquarium of the Pacific and a Dodgers game. I am going to only bring my d7100 and one lens. I have narrowed it down to 2:

17-55mm f2.8 DX or the 18-300mm f3.5-56 VR DX

Which of these 2 should I take?

I am also taking 2 batteries & charger and four 32GB cards

Thanks for the video rpavich. It actually got me thinking. Maybe I should just ditch the DSLR and just use the Samsung ST200F get creative.

I do still also use physical filters as I prefer there effect over most PP simulations. I would say that at least 90% of my digital images receive no PP. Those that I intentionally shoot in RAW obviously get special treatment. I usually shoot in RAW + JPG and find I seldom want any processing on my JPGs.

I am in this same boat too. 90% no PP. I shot film from my first camera in 1980 to 3 years ago when I bought a d7000. And yes I am under 50.
