I had the SB 910 and found it awkward on the Z6, I traded it in for the SB500, I am 76 years old and I wanted less weigh.
Having said that, I find it ok in regular venues/areas with normal ceilings, I leave it on Manual most of the time for greater power, just be prepared to change batteries if you are going to shoot a lot of shots.
I do have a GODOX that I have as a B/W for a second flash that I use once and awhile but it is still heavy and big like the 910.
The problem is that the Z6 does not recognized it as the Flash line in the Menu is gray.

Considering that the SB500 and a GODOX is still cheaper than a 5000, you may consider both.
One other thing, if you are into the video of the Z6, the 500 does have a "constant on" light for video, again bring extra batteries.

I have the Z6 and had D750 with an iMac.
I do not remove my Card from the camera as I download directly, having said that I am not a professional and I rarely shoot more then 100 images at one occasion and have a back up reader just in case.
The XQD cards do download faster right from the camera.
I currently have a SD card reader within a USB 3.0 hub, I have a P&S Canon so I still need the SD slot as backup.
My search is for a reasonably priced combo (SD-XQD & CFast) reader with a Hub so far no luck as I am trying to avoid 2-3 plug in devices.
Hopefully someone here has done some better research (I am not the best at it) and maybe, maybe found a link to new design devices.

I just purchased a Z6 and cannot get my BBF to work, I have tried the different settings in the a7 in Autofocus and that has not worked.
I must have set or a default setting is changing and/or preventing it from being activated.
If you would can you explain any additional changes or settings that need to be made.
Watching half hour videos is frustrating and generally will not touch on the specific problem.

I do have one other problem in that when I transfer to LR it changes the contrast, no other changes, it varies form -7 to -15
I have checked all the Picture Control levels and they are at zero.
I have mentioned it to the LR Forum and hopefully someone over there that has a Z series can help.

It seems I have to click on several times to get to the LR forum to either review or posts discussions.

Sounds like the enhanced security in Mojave.

You have to allow the LR app to transfer to Apple Mail to send the email.

Since you denied it access initially it can't do this,

To grant access open System Preferences, then open Security & Privacy.

Navigate to the Privacy tab, then scroll down to the Automation section on the left.

There should be an entry for Adobe Lightroom Classic CC with an unchecked box for Mail (on the right).

Check the Mail box for LR to enable access and you should be able to send (may need to close and re-open LR).

I tried Adobe, 39 views but not responses, hopefully someone on this site is having the problem.

I updated and everything was fine.
I wanted to send an image via e-mail and as usual checked on e-mail and a pop up box appeared and asked if I would allow access to mail for documents and data.
(I believe that is what it said) and I did not see a reason to do that, HOWEVER it may have removed my ability to send an e-mail or the update did it.
In other words, prior, when I exported in email and I click on the preset to send, the LR box with the images with no addresses would show I would click send again, and after the "Bar" completes it would then appear in my Apple mail and I would type in the "to" address and the mail would send it off.
NOW, there is nothing showing after the bar completes, I have no idea where the image and email is or went to, I tried several different ways:
I tried reloading LR and Mail,
I tried sending it to myself by typing in the name in the initial page.

I have never set up any mail program in the past ,when I started LR I used what was given.

How can I get that dialog box to allow for the settings or is there another simple way to return to what I originally had set up by default.

I use Portrait Pro, just for fun, I am not a pro.
There is an auto setting that does the basic and from there you can increase or decrease all the aspects of the face.

I have watched the 25 minute video that was attached months ago and it seemed like a lot of work for an old guy like me.
The software I mentioned does make it easy, I am sure there are others.

I had the same issue when I downloaded into a file on the desktop for transfer to FB, I tried lowering the brightness on my monitor and that seems to help, whether that is a solution or a false masking of the problem I do not know.
I do not go directly from LR to FB because many of the pictures I take are for friends and once I post them and put them on a CD I discard them.
I put several on a B/U HD in jPeg.
Most likely not an answer, but it solved my issue for FB. I do not know how others view the CD's I give them, I will ask out of curiosity.

I use the BBF all the time, only when I give the camera to someone other then my wife do I change back to the shutter button.
Too complicated for most to understand.
What I also do is keep the Focus Selector lock in the locked position, in the center, I never got into the need for it because of the BBF.
Am I missing something, any views or opinions on the Focus Lock selector ?

I did not go the plug in route.
I migrated the images with edits in two formats : Jpeg or PSD, for whatever reason they transferred as the same file size.
Depending on the importance that is which file I used.
I did not want to be bothered readjusting all the images.
It also gave me that ability to put them in separate files in LR
It will take some extra time, as you will most likely do a group at a time, but that to me saves time on the back end.
One of the minor issues I had was the inability to move some of the files in LR, BUT there were 100's of files that I scanned from a Nikon Coolscan years before.
I also transferred all of the images to Photos when that App was created as a backup.
I most likely transferred 2000 images.
Try a few and see how it works for you.
Remember doing it this way does not remove the file form Aperture, the original is still there for as long as Aperture is alive.
I am not sure if going the plug in route transfers the image out of aperture, I would not like that.

Sorry for the late response, I traveled to a Camera store that had retrieval software.
Here is the frustration:
They were able to retrieve images that I took 2 days before that I erased BUT the 40 images I took before I had the MOV issue were not on the card.
All I can think of is that with the Camera getting stuck in the calendar mode and me shutting off the camera and pulling the battery to get a reset that it eliminated the images from that date that was on the calendar mode.

As I stated above, I have a card reader and I did try that approach and they were not there either.

I appreciate everyone trying to help with ideas and suggestion, I guess I have exhausted all options,

I use LR, so please forgive me for asking "What Nikon program" would that be ?

I am taking pictures and half way thru I accidentally hit the photo/movie button.
I see a 1.7 number at the bottom right corner of the screen, I hit the info button and several rows of pictures appear, I hit it again and the calendar appears, I switched back to photo. and shut the camera off to avoid and issues, so I thought.

I did not erase anything as I did not want to chance anything.
I continue to shoot, I have a 64 GB card and the backup is a 32GB.
I have it set for overflow to go to the second card.

When I got home and downloaded to LR, all the pictures taken before I made the error switch to movie mode were gone except for a few protected images that I have on the card.
I even used a card reader to see if it was a camera to LR issue or a new folder was set up that I could not find, the pictures are not there either.

Is it possible that the movie mode erased all the photos that I shot?
That makes no sense. I did not see an erase message appear nor did I erase any pictures at the event.

I cannot believe that they erased, can they be hidden somewhere or can they be recaptured if they were erased.
Is there a way to see how many folders,if any, are on the card, IOW's is there a setting on the camera to show folders?

It was an event that I did a favor for, no monetary reward but still it is embarrassing.
I would say that about 50 pictures are missing/erased.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I use it all the time, there is an exception when I give the camera to someone else to shoot, they just don't understand and I am not going to spend the time and miss the shot trying to educate a person.
The average person understands push the button half way for 2 seconds and shoot.
I have a D750 and have the AE-L button assigned.

I do have a question, crazydaddio says "If I set the focus priority high", it may be too early in the morning to remember, what is that referencing ?

My issue is with ATT as to the allowance of using local area Zip and 3 digit numbers that do not belong to the number that is being used.
I refuse to believe that they cannot require that a number have a "Caller ID" assigned to that phone.
If a person does not want their ID listed, then just authorize the "Private and/or Unavailable" to be listed.
Yes, there are programs that change the numbers, but really in this day in age of security, there has to be a way.
One could be a real pessimist and say that ATT likes the revenue, but that would be silly, Right ?
