It was completely appropriate to call her "performance" slutty. It was low class and in poor taste. That's creativity? Seeking her own identity? She is just like so many other "acts" today...a penny a dozen. Copycats. It was horrible and NFL ought to be ashamed.

The problem with todays "singers", in my opinion, is that they all over sing. It is an awful trend and it does seem to be all about them. They try to place a thousand notes into a single measure thinking they will impress everyone. To me, it can completely destroy a song.

The National Anthem was blah, halftime was crap. The lights and power should have gone off right then. It was slutty and not family friendly in any way. jazzplayer is right, "slut posse" Yikes! I would rather have seen a great marching band. My suggestions for bands, which has been the trend for years now would have been the Gin Blossoms or Matchbox Twenty (who just released a new album which would have been good timing). Simple Plan, even though they are Canadian. But they have had British acts.

On a different note, I am really sick of how NFL players react after doing their job. Again, it's all about them. Immature and unprofessional. Very disillusioned so I think I'm done watching football.

Yes but you still have to use the camera button to get to the things you most might want to change like ISO. On the D5100 you hit that same button twice and it is ready to change anything. It lights up and you use the multi-control to go through everything you might want to change.

On the D7000 you can do that with the things that come up on the bottom of the LCD. But they are things I never change and just, IMHO, add clutter. You need to use the buttons to change things like ISO or EV.

BTW since the little green screen isolates to the thing you have pushed a button for I am getting somewhat able to use it without my reading glasses as my fingers learn where stuff is. I find myself using it more and more for things like ISO, EV, and metering mode adjustments.

I suppose its because I had a year of experience with the D5100 before I got the D7000 that I prefer its system. There are several things about the D7000 I really do like such as the significantly better viewfinder and the front wheel to change ISO when in P mode.

I'm not sure yet if I like the release mode wheel. I find it a bit awkward and sometimes find I left it in a position I don't want; e.g. remote release. When I press and nothing happens that's usually why. The D5100 release mode is controlled on the LCD and reverts to single shot when you turn the camera off. I thought I didn't like that till I got the alternative on the D7000.

But I remain a firm advocate of the articulated screen as the D5100/5200's best feature. That wouldn't matter to someone who only did portraits or something like that. But I used it frequently and now severely miss the ability to hold the camera in differeing positions without contorting my body to positions it no longer will go to.

I'll keep the D7000 for a year or so and then see what's available. As I noted above if I were in a position to switch it now I'd go for the D5200.

The large screen also isolates the button that you push. Push the menu button, push and hold the ISO button and rotate the main command dial. Same with WB. Couldn't be easier. You push the menu button twice to get to the lower portion of the screen for things like movie quality or High ISO NR. I have never changed anything on that section of the screen. In P mode, just turn the sub command dial for EV changes. Easy. I had an articulating screen on a camcorder and almost never used it. No interest in having one on my DSLR.

Have decided to purchase the Nikon D7000. Have searched B&H, Adorama, Amazon & Best Buy. Can't get under $896.00 for new and $749 for refurbished. Not look to get something for nothing but would very much like to stretch my $$$.

Any other reputable web sites can anyone recommend???

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Don

However I will add that I prefer the D5100 over the D7000. If money is an issue they are selling for quite good prices now that the D5200 has come out.

The D5100 has the same sensor as the D7000, better video performance, and a fully articulated screen. I was pleasantly surprised by how useful the articulated screen is.

I also prefer the way settings work on the D5100. The large LCD layout is better than the cluttered one on the D7000 and you don't have to search around for buttons. I can't read the D7000's little green LCD without reading glasses. I don't normally have my reading glasses when shooting.

The D7000 has several mechanical advantages over the D5100. (e.g. in-camera focusing motor, weather protection, and better viewfinder). If those matter most to you then it certainly is a good choice.

My wife took my D5100 and won't give it back so I'm stuck with the D7000. I'd happily trade it for a D5200!

They will love a slip-n-slide. Especially one that long. What a ride that will be.

I guess that will work but it's so nice to put your skates on in the house and just step out your sliding glass door, down the steps of your deck and onto your own sheet of ice. A rink won't hurt your backyard as it comes up in the spring. I've found the grass under the rink liner comes back faster than the rest of our lawn.

Also, how do you add the smiley face emoticons to your posts?

True, but hockey players for whatever reason are FAR better people (and athletes for that matter) than all the other sports that seem to be riddled with criminals, thugs and low lifes. They seem to be very prevalent in the NBA and NFL particularly.

It's been a fun tournament to watch. Look forward to the rest of it. I would love to see Canada and the US for all the marbles. They played a terrific game a couple of years ago when Canada was down two goals late, tied it but ended up losing in OT. One of the best hockey games I've seen.

Go ice skate on Dorsey Lake, it is beautiful. The YMCA clears the snow and checks the ice for safety. The "Y" also provides skates if you don't have your own.
