No, there are both processed and unprocessed files with copies. There are even psd's that have them!
Does anyone know what I might have inadvertently done to cause a virtual copy to appear with almost all of my photos in LR Classic, the newest version? Running on Windows 10. Many thanks.
Thanks, Frank, but for now, at least, my problem has been solved.

First see what's different between the two files. (file size, file type/ext). Try loading/opening the subject file directly into Photo AI.
Thanks so much, Pete. I tried something very much like this on the original photo, and it worked just fine. Thanks for verifying what I thought I had figured out. Thanks for taking your time to answer, too.
CASE CLOSED!
After photo AI started crashing on a particular photo, I did update it, but it continued to crash. Just now, about two hours later, I tried it on a different photo and Photo AI worked just perfectly! I went back to the original photo, and it won’t work on it! Weird!
Every time I try to open a photo from Lightroom into Photo AI, it crashes and closes the computer. I googled it, and it said to go to Preferences and switch to use the Nivida (sp?) card, so I did. But it still crashes. Any ideas about what to do? I'm not very computer lingo literate, so if you answer, please explain thoroughly in plain English!!
Thanks so much.
MATT Kloskowski (MattK)is my fav. His directions are easy to follow, and he often will repeat them to give you time to comprehend and follow them. I bought his series, "Photoshop System" and have learned SO much.
A friend in Western, NOT West Virginia, Virginia, did a time lapse of the Aurora last night! It was fantastic!
Absolutely stunning! You obviously know what to do to make a really good photo.
I cut my Lightroom teeth on Scott Kelby's Lightroom 5 book. He has since been produciing another one for every new Lightroom iteration. Highly recommend. I understand the desire for an actual book. You can take notes of something to remember and bookmark things that you'll probably forget and need to look up again!
Very clever and evoked several guffaws.
Thanks for this info. Another concern is that by having birdseed scattered on the ground, rats can be attracted to your yard!! No thanks!
Mimosa, common in the South. Beautiful!
I usually find myself trying to figure out new things, too! What is working for me is to set up iCloud so that the photos will download onto my hard drive, so I can choose which ones to import into LR to edit. I agree about not liking to edit on the phone. I need to see it better!
