I'm aware of my luck and by no means a Treadwell type. I was in the company of a professional guide and Brown Bear authority, Chris Day, and took the only option available in such a case; I froze and let the chips fall. I certainly do not advocate close approaches to any bear under any circumstance.
Having been there, done that, I know the feeling that you get when you look directly into the eyes and soul of a magnificent creature of nature. This bear is communicating through his eyes and body language that it understands that you pose no threat and, as such you will be tolerated. I had an encounter with a grizzly sow and cub at Katmai where the cub actually bumped into my knee in streamside brush. He stood up and mom calmly walked up behind him, craned her neck over his shoulder and sniffed my face and looked me in the eye with the same look that yours had then slowly backed away and went back to fishing. Unforgettable. I waited until they got a few feet away and then took their picture
Wonderful tale. God bless them for doing it and you for sharing.
Sure wish you had 'em all down there. They are a darned nuisance around here. Bet 'gators would like them.
What ever you do, do not "clean them up" you'll destroy the collector value.
My guess? Cornish cream fudge
Stunning! Very creative, but it has the appearance of a nicely done composite. Good work.
Thanks a bunch; we once lived in Salem & this was a favorite spot.
God is pleased to have him safely at home in His kingdom. We pray all His blessings and grace upon your family.
One of our favorite vacation parks. Thank you for sharing. Makes us a little homesick.
Really nice shots. We were there, but missed seeing them. Time did not allow us to find the team so we appreciate your pictures.

Certainly does not show abuse in this shot. Good job & God bless!
Sorry, I'm not buying it. When enlarged, the white silica particles are much too defined to be shot from the space station. More likely a micro shot of a grain of sand.
