Misjudging the youth of today.

Been having a few health problems of late and have let the garden get a little out of hand. Then today these kind souls knocked on the door and said they would cut the lawns etc.

They have purchased all the equipment themselves out of their pocket money. Lawns cut and strimmed, hedges tidied up, flower beds weeded and all the paths swept, and any litter that had blown in to the front hedges and beds removed.

A far better job done than some of the so called pros do in the area. when I asked how much I owed them they asked for £5 ($8) and a cold drink. They worked really hard for about 2 hours so I gave them £10 ($16) each and they are going to come back on a regular basis to keep things tidy.

Knowing where they live this is the last thing that you would expect from the normal youths from that area. So nice to be wrong for once.

Youth of today at their best. Spread the word and get them more business. Great photos and they look honest to say the least.

Great story, thanks for sharing. The news rarely shares anything good about the youth today. You should let them know of all the great comments you are sure to get about this. Let them know that they are being recognized throughout the world that they are doing an excellent thing, that ought to put a smile on their faces.

Good to hear wonky. Youth gets a bad press but from my experience the good far outweigh the bad

Hi wonkytripod, thanks for a positive story on the next generation of youths. There's just too much emphasis on the negative apects. Great pics as well.

Way to go Wonky! If your neighbors see your post these kids will be swamped with additional work. Then, as Yogi Berra might say, nobody will hire them anymore, they are too busy! BTB, Yogi Berra is a local character from the colonies. Enjoy!

  I also printed the shots for them and told them I was going to post them on here. Already been contacted by one of the parents to make sure I had given them the amount of money and they had not tried to intimidate me or even have stolen it. She was quite suprised when I told her how hard and diligently they had worked.
