Hi GC, was looking through some old posts and just noticed your request, it is just a few very simple steps, You do not even have to go into Photoshop, it is best done in ACR. You open your raw file in ACR and go to the HSL/Grayscale tab. In there you click on the word Default, as that set all the sliders to zero. Than drag both, the Yellow and the Green all the way to 100. For your black skies, dial the Blue slider all the way down to -100 (you can try to do the same with the Aquas slider (preference). Now go back to the Basic Panel and boost your dark skies and brighten the foliage with the white balance to bluer and greener (temperature to the left toward blue, tint to the left toward greener) Adjust Shadows and Blacks to taste, you can go as far as 100 (just dial down if you feel its too much. If you want to give your images that little foggy quality, dial down the Clarity, but do this carefully ( you could loose too much detail). This is pretty much it, you could add some grain in the Effects tab, but that is again preference. Go try it out and have some fun playing with it ( I think it's fun!!!) Wish you a nice day!!

That effect is good enough for me, I don't use it that often and like I said, I don't have to invest in anything and it just takes one minute, maybe two to change an image.

I am curious as to your work flow in getting that IR effect on your lake scene.... Thanks

I was amazed at Homasassa Springs Stae Park (about 75 miles North of Tampa where I was staying) Especially if you want some bird shots. Egrets, flamingos, Great Herons, Eagles and Mamatees are some of the shots that I got. No need for anything 300mm or longer. A 70-200 is perfect for this wildlife preserve. You will be close !!

I had the lens. I ended up returning it. Mine had a severe back focusing issue on all of my Nikon DSLR cameras. Also, I thought it was overpriced at 1 grand. I have two of the Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lenses now. I think they're just as good with just a little slower maximum aperture.

My 16-85 resides on my d7100 and they are fantastic together !! I haven't tried it on my new d500 yet.

I looked at the link, and have to ask what is the "enclosure"? Is it the case around it, or is it something inside? Why doesn't the same thing happen if a My Cloud falls and breaks?

I am not sure I understand how storage on My Book is different from storage on My Cloud. Isn't any transfer of data to an electronic device a form of encryption? It isn't exactly like photos in, photos stored, photos out! Photos stored is where the issue occurs...

Of course, like most people, I use the devices and don't examine their inner workings in any detail! If one fails I do not see the difference between how it failed as opposed to how the other would fail. It's just gone! That's why we have multiple backups... That said, I DO want to know which is the best to use, has the widest capabilities, lasts the longest, is more reliable, etc.!

I am not an expert, so let me tell you what I know from looking at these storage devices....Simply put: These storage devices are a case or container holding one or more hard drives. In some instances these hard drives are specially made for this application. They also have an electronic mechanism that runs (internal to the device), software to control how the information is stored. Such as RAID 1 (mirroring) or other configurations. The WD My Book encrypts the data that you send to it and the WD My Cloud does not. In the case of the WD My Book, if the mechanism or the software in the case fails there is NO way to recover the data. Not even removing the hard drives and putting them into a different, but same case. WD will not recover the data or help you with this problem.

Also, if this helps.....The WD My book is a device that you connect directly to your computer and it reads like another drive (or even a jump drive). It is accessable only when connected physically to a computer. The WD cloud drive can be connected remotely from anywhere you can use the internet. Say that you are at a clients office and you need something stored back in your office on your cloud drive. You can sign on remotely and bring up the document or photo. You can't do that with the WD My Book.

Like I said in the beginning here, I am not an expert on this. I have been checking these out and have some knowledge about it. If someone can correct me or add to this feel free to jump in.....................I will learn too !!

If I understand correctly, the My Cloud and the Book both hold the images. The Book just stores the images, which can be accessed by the computer to which it is attached. My Cloud stores the images, and remains connected to the computer, but can be accessed over the internet from a different location and a different computer. Does the home computer have to be turned on, or will access be available when it is turned off? (I assume if it can be turned off, then the router is how it gets communication with the device.) Am I understanding correctly?

Also, since the images reside on the xHD, they can be lost if something breaks down in the xHD. That would make it just like the Book xHD except for its ability to transmit images over the internet...

There is also another difference between WD Raids My Cloud and My Book. The My Book encrypts the data stored on it and if the enclosure fails the drives cannot be recovered. Even by putting them back into an identical enclosure. There are several reviews on Amazon that mention this: If the enclosure dies, all data dies with it. More details here: https://community.wd.com/t/prevent-data-loss-data-is-lost-forever-if-wd-drive-enclosure-fails-even-if-hard-drives-work-fine/67337

The WD My Cloud does not encrypt the data that you store on it,

I use my Canon Pixma Pro 100 almost exclusively for B+W and Sepia toned prints. Canon makes great prints and the four cartridge set of blacks and greys make it easy to have an extra set on hand. Go for it !! You won't be disappointed.

You don't need to get the full frame lenses for the D7100. It's just more weight. A great lens to consider is the Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens. It's sharp, has excellent build quality, and has half the distortion of Nikon's superzoom lenses.

Ditto !! I love my 16-85. Stays on my D7100..
