I believe that it is a trick of the eyes. A very dark object against a very bright back ground. I don't see it here but I have observed it at other times. Buzzards/vultures may be baited with offerings of fresh meat.
My concern in this discussion has been the emphasis on equipment and not on technique and natural lighting. Ansel Adams waited for hours for the light to be just right.. I have lived in the same home for fifty years and have the benefit of watching the seasonal changes of the light. When we are patient the light changes by the day and if we miss it this year it will be there next year.
For some work the camera is the key for other work the lens but always the hands the hold the equipment are the controlling factor. This can be achieved only with a rapid shutter release.
Both of the tripods that I have allow me to invert the center post and hang the camera between the legs. This permits lowering the camera to to point of having the view finder on the ground. Fortunately the viewing screen can be moved through several planes,
I must thank everyone for their welcome. I am skilled in many trades and crafts and use my camera to share ideas and methods. The movie feature on the modern camera is wonderfully useful. Someone may ask how to, and a reply can be put together in 30 minutes and send along the way.
Being able to read but refusing to read qualifies as stupid. I knew a man who said that he didn't read because he could see no reason to clutter up him mind with things for which he could anticipate no need or use in his life.
When I first started with a Kodak Box camera 620 film 12 exposures to the roll. I might well have snow storm pictures and spring flowers on the same B&W roll. Today I can take a picture and send it half way around the world before the flames have died down. I shoot with a Nikon D5600 with a variety of lens options. I have been trying to improve my work for more than 70 years.
I have long recognized that stupid and ignorant are considered by many to be synonymous. But ignorant is corrected by knowledge. There is no cure for stupid.
