Update:

Was asked to showcase one of many lighthouse pictures I took while in Maine. But sadly weather didn't cooperate. So I had to resort to plan "B" got a couple lighthouse shots while Near lake Erie. This one stands out to me and many who've also seen it.

Thank you for bringing this important operating perimeter to our attention. I've lost media to this far to often.

NP Chuck.

Follow up, Although many here may suggest what type or brand of SD card/s, One should avoid using a mini or micro SD cards in their cameras unless otherwise stated as an "allowable" card. The smaller card fits into a standard size SD card reader, (looks just like a standard sd card but with a small slot or opening for the mini card) then placed into their camera. So Unless your device allows for such a card (micro/mini SD card) I would avoid using them to store your data. The only device which can or should use the mini card is a tablet or smart phone.

Thanks so much for your response. I wondered if a warming planet had something to do with it....

I will be interested in what you have to say any time. The next time you have something interesting, give me a holler!

Follow Up, One other observation I neglected to mention above.. I've noticed on our travels that the forest ferns are dying off very quickly or more suddenly than normal. Global warming?. hardly.. Put it this way.. each time you look into the skis and see white smoke trails coming from aircraft.. Just so you know these are known as Chemtrails.. and "they" have been doing this since the 60's (to my knowledge) where does these chemtrails end up?. look at the trees, land and the fish you eat.. Chemtrails on the east coast ends up either in the ocean or worse over seas England etc.. same holds true for what ever happens in Africa. Watch weather patterns from Africa.. how does one know if there's "things or substances" in those tropical depressions that head our way.. Hell I've seen this large shinning web floating in the sky.. turns out it was a nest of spiders from lord knows where and they created this web to surf the sky to find a new home.. So don't just think it global warming.

Are you going to put those keys back in the keyboard? If not can I have those keys?

Sure thing, Pm your address and I'll send them to you. This was for an old school IBM keyboard or does this matter? I suspect you just want the keys so I don't take anymore nonsense images in the future.. :p

Visualization does help when seeing what you're wanting to shot and I use this often. yet trying to convey this visualization to the camera is not that easy. In my case, not often does the image turn out as I had hoped. if I sit and look at the digital image long enough I'll find what it is I was shooting, tree, limb, flower etc. and crop to that visualization I was attempting to achieve the first time.

Take my most current image. I was asked to create an image using text or letters.. Not willing to get outside on that day I recall an old key board in the basement , popped the keys off and shot an image of the keys scattered about on the counter top.

The visualization was that I wanted the escape key to stand out. later after studding my shot, I though that I should have create a flow within the image from foreground to background using the same lighting.. I didn't like the harsh light effect in the background, but it was good enough to submit to the letters challenge.

The point is, I seen in my mind how I wanted to achieve the shot, so I lowered the tripod, set the camera up and dropped the keys on the counter top. Though it may have been a more dramatic effect is I took a long exposure to create a blurry of keys dropping.

FYI: Your devices (According to Sandisk) can handle the follow cards: 16G, 32G, 64G, 128G & 256G in either the Extreme Pro or Extreme Plus. In other words, although the 1 TB card might fit, it's not recommended for your camera. stay within your devices limits or risk damaging the card or corrupting the image files.

Also, no one touched on the card transference speed as this would also make a big difference in how fast the data or images are stored on your device. For more information about the specifics of the Sandisk cards.. search "SanDisk | Product Compatibility Tool"

Do you know what is causing that Boke? I've lived in SoCal my whole life (so far) and there has NEVER been "defined" fall colors, so I am curious about your event. Thanks.

Thanks for the question and I rarely get anyone interested in what I have to say. But to your question. In MD & PA the Red trees (Maple etc) are turning faster than any of the orange or yellow trees. Most seem to think it's the lack of rain throughout the year. I tend to agree to a point.. Acid rain is the main culprit.. Acid rain wipes out many trees before the fall season.. they simply change from green to brown, This is indecated by the brown or burnt edges on the green leaves and it's very disappointing. I recall one fall season in the mountains of NC where we were invited to a rangers look out tower. Once there, one could look down into the forest below and only see dead leafy trees as the Pine or ever greens where not harmed. Acid rain killed them all.

Last, the heavy frost which signals to the trees to withdraw their sap is spotty at best, instead of a blanketing cover frost. Then one ends up with these spotty colors at different times of the season. I just know that Colorado and a few other states tend to get more of a blanking frost (Aspen trees) and these tend to change at the same time every year. otherwise, be prepared not to see any of those "colorful fall" pictures from years past. If you happen to be in the right spot at the right time.. Best take several pictures.

Oh and one more thing.. don't get wrapped up in enhanced images of fall colors. Typically those who take these pictures end up over accentuating the colors during post processing. Like I've told others, we're living in a fake world where anyone can take a dull drab picture and make it look spectacular just by adding colors etc. Find these real colors in real life is going to get much harder.

If one is shooting in RAW and the image ends up over saturated, then it was done this way via post processing. First place I would look is to see if your computer monitor has been color calibrated. Because if it looks fine to you without adjusting anything.. yet post process or editing would accentuate the colors but appear to look normal on your monitor. Lastly, both images appear to have been pushed beyond a safe level of contrast.

For the price of one of those power shots, why not get her an M series camera and a starter or kit lens.

BYW just wanted to add..

https://cameradecision.com

Compare any camera with any camera this site helped me select the M6 which I've been very pleased with the results.

Image 1) Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS

Placed the camera on the roof of our car back in 2010 and took this shot. No other adjustments done.

Image 2) FujiFilm XP60

Driving through New Mexico 2014 spotted this barrier. Later I started calling it Warriors Wall.

Both of these cameras got me through those tough years when I couldn't handle anything larger or heavier. No adjustments to either of the cameras other than finding my focal range.

Parse to the gods. Someone at UHH has finally admitted what I've been trying to say for nearly 6 months, if not more. back when I purchase my refurbished M6 I wanted to accumulate a few filters for use with my 100mm lens. Months past and I've had to systematically return each one of these filters ranging from UV, CPL, Deffusers and Gradated ND filters. The reason.. None of these filters worked with my camera.

B&W
Hoya
Tiffen
Fotodiox
Polaroid
Lee
and many others no name brands..

No matter how hard I tried, reset the camera, adjust the camera's setting, even allowing for long exposures, made sure I was 90 degrees from the sun etc.. nothing worked. I posted this info on a number of sites Like Fstoppers only to be told nearly the same thing within this thread and others about filters on digital cameras. "It's user error".

So all this time I thought it was me because my arthritic hands couldn't rotate the filter correctly when it was the filter itself simply does not work on digital cameras. The true test of this camera a few months back while picnicing beside a stream.. I took this image without a polarization filter. Although the image has some shimmers. I can still see the bottom of the stream in bright daylight.. so who needs a filter when the camera has all ready take or adjusted the image for processing.

Finally, after hearing others saying what I had suspected and told others in this and other forums only to be met with resistance, has come full circle. No longer will I waste money on something that doesn't work on my camera.

The only "Rule" one should abide to is there are No Rules.. However, this image is nothing more than a tourist shot lacking competition and substance. If this is your first attempt at landscape photography, then you have a long way to go. Yet if you've been doing these types of shots for a while.. clearly your talents lay in another area of photography.

This makes 4 years without any "defined" fall colors in Maryland & parts of PA. So I'll have to post one from 2015. Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway. That was the last time we've seen that bright confined color in a long time.

Stan, What you're referring to seems to be a polarizing filter. However Polaroid did make filters for their cameras. So it's hard to tell of you're referring to one, the other or both.

In any event, Yes there is an old school Linear Polarizer that has a small handle attached to the out ring of the filter. I actually purchased one a few weeks ago. Although hard to see in this image, the handle out of focus at the top of this Tiffen filter in this image.

So I suspect that you're having many of the same issues I am. Not being able to rotate the standard ring filter and must resort to the ring attached handle.
